The Samsung ZV40 is a 3G clamshell phone available exclusively on Vodafone.
It comes in a choice of colours, including pink, and is definitely more of a
girlie phone. It's kind of cute looking.
Not a very popular phone, it looks like the kind of thing Samsung were making
a few years back. The spec is about average for a 3G phone - nothing special
stands out - and while there's nothing really wrong with the phone, most people
seem to find one or two minor things to complain about. Buy the ZV40 if you
think it's cute, but don't expect too much from it.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this phone i had one ages ago but had it blocked from
other sims and cnt remember the code i still have the phone but it hasnt
been used in nearly 4years does any1 know where i can buy one i have
looked everywhere and cant find one please help it was the best phone

I LOVE my pink zv40! I've had it for 4 years now, and I've dropped it
on the ground while cantering, it's fallen into puddles without quitting
on me. I can't bear to separate from this phone. <3

I've had this phone for 3 years now and i love it.I've since got a new
phone but i haven't parted with my zv40. The camera is very good and
I get clear snaps every time.Music sounds sharp and I love the flip
design.I have the phone in grey.Love the 3g vid call feature and the
compact size.Overall, a very good phone. Only drawbacks are it doesnt
seem to take a bigger memory card than the 64mb one that came with the
phone and you cant seem to get themes for the phone although it can
take themes.Also you cant use songs(MP3) for message and alarm sounds.

Great phone. Have had it 1.5 years and its always been fab. I've lost
it on a mountain for 5 hours in the rain, thrown it (accidently) across
concrete and it only gets a few scratches. Its INDESTRUCTIBLE! However,
bluetooth has suddenly stopped working and the radio never works.. The
battery life on mine lasts for a week or so, when its on 24/7???

love this phone. The camera is the best very clear and the 180 swivel
is fab for self portraits to send to friends and actually seeing what
you are take rather than pot luck. Shame other camera don't do it.

Had this fone for 1.5yrs.I love it.It's been great,fits in my back pocket
perfect.Memory is fantastic can hold lots of foto's,hubby goes mad when
transfering to comp as takes ages(LOL).Just started having a few problems,can
only talk to someone clearly when on a BUS!!!! anywhere else and it
sounds like the person is under water or cuts off!! It texts ok-when
vodafone don't have problems at their end.Always says out of 3G coverage,never
worked.Got few songs on but drains the battery too much now.Camera is
so clear-brill pics all time.

Love everything about the phone, especially the camera. I took pix with

Great little phone. Main grudges include the lack of apostrophe and
semicolon characters when typing, and the common memory card bug whereby
most phones of this version will never accept a memory card.

THE PHONE IS JUNK. IT WORKED OUTSTANDING FOR SIX MONTHS AND ONE DAY

APOSTROPHES are possible if you use predictive text. For those who want
to switch off the keypad tones, you can do this by using the volume
button on the side of the phone. This would have been a major peeve
for me too, so I was glad to find that worked!

Just bought this for my son - early impressions it seems a good little
phone, excellent quality screen & camera, good quality sound (better
than my nokia 6111). Comment previously about bluetooth, this does seem
to be different to the way I am used to bluetooth, read instruction
book and it will become clear on what to do ! Also picked it up at a
bargain on e-bay brand new for £36.

the MP3 does not work! But the battery is quite good! The Bluetooth
will not connect to oher phones so you cannot send or recieve files!!

i had this phone 7 months ago it is so cute , small, have many good
services,but the prblem that the SMS tones,alarm tones should be ployphonic
not mp3 or wav . and i wished the camera be 2 or more bixle but it is
good one having a great colour and settings

Best Phone I've had. Lots of great features and even comes with its
own memory card which is great. I've never had any problems with it
and i keep discovering new things about it. :) Plus, the battery lasts
for agggggges before it runs out. :) A great buy for £75!!!

Worst phone i have ever had. Text messages dont always come throgh,
phone calls dont always come through and you get NO message to say you
have missed a call. i have had my sim card checked and updated but it
a phone fault. I have missed so may inportant calls its terribly and
I cannot always ring out from it either I have to put my sim card into
a friends phone to be able to make a call.....NEVER AGAIN

This phone was great for the first couple of weeks and then it started
to have problems like... It has trouble charging and being connected
to the PC. and it wouldn't turn on or work if it wasn'ty connected to
the Charger.

My boyfriend bought me this phone, yesterday, after my N72 Pink was
stolen. Although N72 was smarter I like this one cause it's smaller
and vibrates harder :p. I love pink...so I'm crazy about it. The only
things that bothers me are that, the games on it are just trials and
the display on front don't do more like display text messages or missed
calls. It deserves 4 stars. I hope i'll keep this more than 6 months

Love this phone so much, girlfriend bought it to me as a present and
i cant fault it at all! People make fun cos of the colour but its not

I got this phone in 2005 for my birthday, and i loved it! the only problem
with it was that when you recorded songs, you couldn't make them your
ringtone. Unfortunatly, somebody stole this phone whilst i was on holiday,
but it was a lot better than my one i have now (motorola l6) All in
all, I would give this phone 7 out of 10.

My freind has his fone and she has never had a bad word to say about
it.She lost her 1st one that she got for her birthday, and she liked
it so much that she got it again the second time! i like it n i think

first off i think its a great phone because it can hold many pictures
frm my computer and it can also play mp3's (obviously, but thats a good
feature!)and even though i was really relunctant to gettin a different
make of phone other than a nokia, i was pleased with it! one small thing
though u cant take a picture with it closed down, not a major "defect"
but its stil worth a mention. im writin this the day that ireland beat
england in rugby at croke!!! wooo.

Well, wot can i say! i do luv this fone dnt get me rong but i av 1 massive
prob! the main reason i use mi fone is 2 play music on it!! so wen i
got dis fone at xmas i used mi money 2 get a 1gb memory card! wen i
got it i put it in it sed memory card needs to be formatted but may
loose data yes or no but wen i press yes it jus ses error and dsnt work.
it's not the memory card coz i tried it on mi m8s fones so i took it
bck 2 vodafone shop n dey gav me a new 1 but it still ddnt work. Then
wen i took it bck da 2nd tym dey sed dat the fone cnt hold dat much
memory?? so im a bit comfuzzled!!! can n e 1 elp me is it mi fone or

I have had this phone 4 about 2 months love it like the pink colour
great camera and can download everything only gripe is some wallpapers

I got this fone 30mins ago (in pink) and soo cool bt its proving very
hard to like get used to it and when i synced my contacts it did all
of them twice!!! so i hav 2 go round deleting them! and i dont no how
2 save on the external memory AND IT ALWAYS SAVES ON THE FONE!!!! ahhhh
help!! and its a bit confusing... its very weird cuz this is my 1st
samsung so yea it might be just me cuz im so used to the sony ericsson!!
so dont me let u put u off buying it!! its such a gd fone and i no the
screen little screen goes blanck but it doesnt really bother me as much
becasue ive never had a flip fone! and its so easy to get pics and stuff

I've only ever had Sony ericsson phones, but got talked into a ZV40
by Vodafone rep, phone itself is pretty good - pity the display on front
did'nt do a bit more like display text messages or missed calls - biggest
gripe with this phone is camera, its terrible -

Hi, bought this fone just after xmas as my mum got the pink one and
i think its brill.As with every1 else the cover screen light is a bit
annoying but press the side button down and it comes on for a while

i got this phone recently. the shop tolds me to charge it for 48 hours
so I did and the battery life is rubbish it lasts for juat over a day!!!
The games on it are just trials so you cant play them for more than
30 seconds. However its got a good quality screen and It works well
apart from the battery life. So i'm pleased with it overall

Right i recently bought this phone from the vodafone site on pay as
you go ... it is unbeleivable! Before that i had a nokia 6630 music
but that broke .. so i was looking for something with the same specs
but a bit less brickier :P And this phone is not in any way girlie ..
It also comes in gray and silver. It's like saying a d900 or something
is girlie , only because it is availiable in pink .. nowadays most phones
are availiable in pink. Does that mean that every phone on the face
of the earth is girlie? NO! so this phone is perfect in every way .
By saying it looks girlie and showing only a pink image of it , puts
buyers off, i think you should look deeper into all models before over
exaggerating!

where to start?!?? a unbelievabley great phone that looks sexier than
if Jessica Alba and Heidi Klum could have kids. Fantastic spec, only

I got the phone a couple of days ago and i reli luv it - it looks cute,
the menus easy 2 use and it has so much more memory than my last phone!
my only complaint is that the time on the front doesn't stay on all
the time - does anyone know how to make it so it does? plz help!

Had this phone 2day, i think its absoloutly brill.. its got similar
menu 2 the D500 which is easy to use. i had the motorola V3 b4 this
n i jus gotta say this phone is like royalty compared 2 that V3 - what
a poor phone.... keep buyin the ZV40 (pink ofcourse)

3 stars at the moment but if someone can tell me how to keep the time
illuminated on the cover so I know when a message or missed call comes
through instead of constantly opening it and how I can change text alert
to vibration and periodic alerts I will then give it 5 stars. I have
been through the menus and it always reverts to melody & once only alert.

After walking the dog and washing the car endless times i finally got
enough money to buy this phone. i could have got a job but at 13 the
only job is paper rounds and i don't own a bike. anyway i wen and brought
it last saturday. as it was the last saturday before christmas the queue
was lg but well worth the wait. got the hang of it already and the pink
colour is gorgeous(better than the motorola v3).

hy guys, i bought this phone this summer in Ireland (Vodafone locked).
and now i have one big problem with it. in my country (Lithuania) vodafone
doesn't work, so i need to unlock this phone, but nobody knows, how

this mobile is great: design, menu style, music player and the quality
of sound. i can say that samsung rules-im the biggest fan of them and

Love Samsung, this is the 4th Samsung I've had over the last five years.
Great colour, love the pink. Keypad tones can be turned off within settings,
phone settings and profiles, select left soft key to edit the profile,
scroll across to the right through phone - messaging and then on to
keypad tones, scroll down to the volume section and chose from mute
up to loud. Each profile can be edited in the same way. The volume key
at the side flips the camera up or down so no more upside-down view!
My only problem is not being able to unlock and use my own sim card.
I have paid a website via paypal to get a code and have never received
it. I feel a complaint to the website coming on as they stated all codes
for ZV40 are 100% accurate - well you have to receive it and try it
to prove this. Any useful suggestions?

I'm disapointed with this phone, I was hoping for something better,
I previously had a samsung T100, and I still find this a much better
phone. The keypad tones can be adjusted, as with the text message alert
and most important to me, the external screen stays on (without backlight).
If you are happy to live without these little things, its an ideal phone.
It does everything else very well, menu system is a little confusing.
Its a very good phone, it just has alot of annoying features

Well, nice things for the price (good offer in Sweden). Nice screen,
and avarage functions. Allthough, got limitations. The menysystem is
hard to overlook and to complex. And some of the function promised in
the book has been cut off on the phone.

I've had my phone for 5 months and think its lovely! The only gripe
is the camera - pictures aren't genrally good and quite small but I
have a dinky digital camera instead so its no big deal. I've put a memory
card in and loaded it with all my fav songs and I find navigating your
way round the menu very easy. I've noted comments that the screen remains
blank - mine is always illuminated with the time and leaves me a 'text
message' icon if I have missed a call or have a message. All round great
dinky girlie phone :-)

I bought the 'phone for my daughter's 14th birthday and she's well chuffed
with it. Being a real Luddite when it comes to mobiles, I had trouble
setting up 'Vodafone Live', etc., but a visit to the Vodafone shop in
Norwich soon sorted that out (thanks, Hannah!). Very good picture /
video / music quality; also, the USB connection to my PC was easy to
sort out, even for a numpty like me. One happy daughter, one happy dad
- well done Vodafone / Samsung!

For Sue and others who want to be able to use apostrophes in text messages
- YOU CAN! Make sure you have the predictive text feature switched on
and it will insert apostrophes where necessary.

really good shame about the battery life but im sure mine lsts more

I've had this phone 4 30mins and it is superb compared 2 my last 1 which
was a Sharp GX25. This is the new phone 4 all us girls. I say go out

those who want to switch off the keypad tones, you can do this by using
the volume button on the side of the phone. This would have been a major
peeve for me too, so I was glad to find that worked! To get percentages
on the calculator, multiply by 0.x for less than 100% (e.g. 0.51 for
51%) and by 1.x for more than 100% (e.g. 1.23 for 123%). Agree, it's
a bore how long it takes to send messages.

I love the look of this phone and camera, messaging etc are fine but
am invoking my 14 day approval to change it - 2 or 3 things which I'm
not happy with: No apostrophes for text message (not important to most
folk); The keypad tones are very loud - funky but cannot be turned off
unless the phone is on silent; No percentages on the calculator! If
these 3 things are important I wouldn't advise you get the phone, but
it's a nice handset and simple and efficient otherwise!

Have had this phone for about a month now and cant stop playing with
it. My only problem is that i have played with it soooo much that ive
made the camera screen view upside down and dont know how to change
it back. Im sure i will sort it. The girly pink colour is fab, a much
better pink than the motoroler.You do have to open it every so often
incase of missed calls or text but that ok, its just another excuse
to play.

this fone is ace!! i bought it last week and i haven't put it down since!!
its so easy 2 use and i love the design. samsung have done it again!
and its PINK!!! the fault i can think of is battery life - its poor
but i dont mind coz i re-charge it while i sleep so its not a problem!
5 stars!!

I bought this phone 2 days ago and I LOVE IT! The camera is really amazing
and takes SO clear photos and the zooming is sooo great! It's cute,
very pink and girly =P Funny thing...the guy at the store selling the
phone to me told me that a couple of guys actually had bought it LOL!
I was like: well..I wouldn't like that! =p It's available in silver
as well, but the pink one is sooo pretty! I'm in love with my new phone
and you would be too! It has everything you need. One negative thing...and
the only negative thing I know at the moment is the battery time. It
really sucks! However...this really is a great phone and you will absolutely
NOT regret buying it. You will fall in love!

an excellent 3g handset , crystal clear screen , decent internal memory
and up to 1gb external, battery is about 2 days on average(not bad for
3g in ireland)only letdown is when watching mobile tv or video clips
you cant view in full screen, still its only 199euro on vodafone ireland
so not too bad

I didn't like this phone, its nice looking and the camera is great but
the cover screen stays blank all the time so if you glance at it you
don't know whether anyone has text you or you've missed a call, this
really bugs me so its going back tomorrow.

just got this phone and it is brilliant!!! always had a nokia in the
past but this is better and with its girlie pink colour it is so much
better. the graphics are brilliant and it is so easy to use i recommend
this phone 100% to anyone go and get one i love it!!
