Samsung UE55KU6470 review

 Review: June 2016

Rating: 4 stars

In a nutshell: The Samsung UE55KU6470 is exclusive to Currys / PC World and is a good quality, affordable 55-inch TV. This 4K HDR TV comes with a good range of catch-up TV, plus streaming content from Amazon and Netflix, and is a good choice for a family TV.

6470 vs 6400

The Samsung KU6470 is virtually identical to the Samsung KU6400, except that it has a different style of stand, and comes with a TM1680A remote control with support for voice recognition.

However, the KU6470 is exclusive to Currys / PC World and is currently priced at a premium of around £100 compared with the KU6400. For that reason, we think that the KU6400 offers better value for money, and we've given the 6470 a rating of 4 stars, instead of 5.

Watch the price of this TV carefully however, as it might well fall in the run-up to Black Friday 2016, and again after the Christmas period.

What is the HDR Format of the 55'?

Asked by Mike from UK on 25th Jun 2017
I am thinking of purchasing this tv to go with my PS4 Pro but I am being told the HDR Format needs to be HDR 10.

How did the 49inch version if this model get 5 stars and great review and the 55inch does not score the same?

Asked by Brian from Ireland on 6th Jun 2017
Confusing when it comes to how accurate the reviews are.

Hi Brian, thanks for the question. With such a big screen, the 55-inch model starts to show its shortcomings, and that's why we rated it differently. But it's now astonishingly good value if you can find one before they vanish from the shops.

Can anyone tell me how to turn the TV picture off whilst listening to music? Don't want static images to cause screen burn.......

I dont think LED TVs suffer from screen burn nearly as much as plasmas and CRTS used to.
