Samsung UE40JU6445 review
|Review: May 2015|
Last updated October 2015
In a nutshell: The Samsung UE40JU6445 is a mid-market 40-inch TV and is a good value family television. It's a nice-looking TV with the benefit of UHD (4K) resolution and Samsung's new Smart TV system. It's a very polished all-round performer. and its only issue is the relatively narrow viewing angles.
As usual, Samsung's 2015 TV range is a maze, seemingly designed to confuse the unwary shopper. The JU6445 appears to be identical to the JU6400, but is exclusive to Currys / PC World.
The two models look identical, have the same spec sheets, and appear to have exactly the same characteristics. The only difference we can find is that Samsung's Picture Quality Index (PQI) is 1,000 for the JU6445 and 900 for the JU6400. That would seem to indicate that the JU6445 is better in some undefined way. However, since there is no explanation of how these numbers are calculated, we'd take that as a marketing tactic rather than a real, tangible difference.

Terrible experience with this tv. Sound is almost never in sync with picture which is very annoying. Samsung can't seem to fix it despite months of promises.

Just bought the 40".
Currently using freeview and works very well with good reception on the built in receiver.
Had to adjust the picture settings and remove the smoothing otherwise lip synch is a problem when upscaling.
Technically very good - just have to wait for technology to catch up with it.
I would recommend.
