Samsung E1200 review

 Review: November 2013

Rating: 2 stars

In a nutshell: The Samsung E1200 is a very basic and cheap handset with an alphanumeric keypad.

Today's best buy: DURAGADGET Premium Quality I ... from Amazon (£17.99)

The E1200 is probably Samsung's cheapest and most basic phone. It's an old-fashioned handset with a tiny screen, alphanumeric keypad and very little else. The keypad is rubberised and easy to use and the phone is so cheap you don't need to worry about losing it or breaking it. It's also incredibly light in weight. Battery life is another plus.

The Nokia 100 is similar in price but has a radio, or you could pick the even cheaper Alcatel 1010

I have several mega cheap phones, Alcatel 1010, Nokia 105 but this one is in my view the best of the bunch. It beats the others hands down for calling quality and it also has a nice bright back light on the keypad which is a one piece rubber job so resists dust and splashes. The torch function is quite rubbish, the screen goes white and full brightness, just about useful ! OK the other two cheapies have FM Radio and proper led torches but as a phone for texting and calling this is the best choice in my opinion.

I love this phone for its mega battery life, so glad that this sort of phone is still available, I have got a second one still in its box for when this one dies.

Best phone I've had in years! Ditched my smartphones - only needs charged once every 3 weeks! Hooray!
