Panasonic TX-P42GT60B review
The Panasonic Viera TX-P42GT60B is probably the ultimate 42 inch television. Sitting above Panasonic's ST60 plasma range, the GT60 offers the following improvements:
Whether it's worth paying extra for these features is another question. For instance, the difference between the already extremely fast 2,500Hz and the class-leading 3,000Hz response is negligible - it's already so far beyond anything that LCD technology is capable of delivering, that the difference is academic. Similarly, THX mode is a feature that is likely to be ignored by the majority of users.
The hexa processing engine (6 core processor) does make it faster to launch apps, and the lag time when gaming is perhaps reduced a little. Display mirroring of a compatible smartphone may be nice to have and the Freesat HD tuner may be relevant to some) although a Freesat set-top box will easily make up for that.
Taking all this into account, we prefer the Viera P42ST60 model, but both are truly outstanding televisions.
