Nokia 7373 Review
Phone rating:
Review: December 2006. Updated March 2008.
The Nokia 7373 is an upgraded version of the 7370 from Nokia's L'Amour
series. It's a visually stunning phone, available in a choice of colours
- Powder Pink (pictured) and Bronze Black, with more masculine graphics.
The 7373 has the same swivel design as the 7370. It's a very compact
phone when closed, and to open you flip the keypad sideways so that
it rotates in your hand into the open position - cool! The surface finish
of the phone is stunning, with elaborate, tooled surfaces and embossed
finishing. One negative aspect is that the phone has to be opened in
order to access the controls - other rotating or sliding phones usually
have at least some navigation keys on the outside, so that the phone
can be used when closed.
The 7373 shares the same stunning high resolution display as its predecessor.
This is a large display, at 2 inches across, making excellent use of
the swivel design and complementing the external look of the phone.
The camera on the 7373 has been upgraded to 2 megapixels and there is
also a video recording function. The 7373 is a competent music player,
with a media player capable of handling MP3, AAC, WMA and other popular
formats. It also has a built in FM radio. Audio quality is pretty good,
with simulated 3D sound from twin speakers, and support for stereo headsets.
A "fashion" stereo headset is included in the box.
One very welcome improvement is the addition of a MicroSD memory slot.
This means that you can add up to 2 Gbytes of additional memory for
storing MP3 tracks or videos. A 128 Mbyte card is included in the sales
package, which is plenty to get you started.
All of the other features that you'd expect from a high-end phone are
here too: Bluetooth & USB connectivity, high-speed internet, high
quality MP3 ringtones, a handsfree speakerphone and Java games. We're
pretty impressed by the Nokia 7373. It's a far superior phone to the
7370 that is replaces. It's got the looks and it's got the gadgets too.
If the battery life had been better we'd have awarded it 5 stars.
The 7373 is now pretty well sold out, so you'll have to look another
phone. For girly phones, consider the Motorola
U9 (available in pink or purple), LG
Chocolate (available in pink or lilac), the Samsung
E900 Pink or the Sony Ericsson
W580i Pink.
Features of the Nokia 7373 include:
- 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom
- Video camera
- Display: 262,144 colours, 240 x 320 pixels (2 inches)
- MP3 player (MP3/AAC/M4A/eAAC+/AAC+/WMA formats)
- FM visual stereo radio
- Integrated 3D stereo speakers plus stereo headset
- Video ringtones plus MP3/AAC/MIDI polyphonic ringtones (64-voice
polyphonic ringtones)
- Voice dialing / voice commands
- Voice recorder
- Integrated handsfree speaker
- Messaging: SMS, MMS, email (SMTP, POP3, IMAP4,
and APOP), Nokia Xpress audio messaging
- Support for attachments (view jpeg, 3gp, MP3, .ppt, .doc, .xls,
and .pdf files)
- Games: Soduku, Music Guess plus downloadable Java games
- Connectivity: Bluetooth, USB
- Memory: 10 Mbytes plus MicroSD slot (expandable to 2 Gbytes)
- WAP 2.0, GPRS, HSCSD,
EDGE
- Web browser
- Triband
- Size: 88 x 43 x 23 mm
- Weight: 104g
- Talktime: 2.5 hours
- Battery standby: 250 hours

I don't understand why some ppl don't like this phone!! It's the best
phone in the world ...it's pretty, it's weightless it has brill graphics
and ringtones. It's really easy to use as you don't have to search around
forever trying to find out how to change your ringtone like some others,
it has its own little section called 'ringtones' in settings or something.
The swivel action is rather fabby. This phone is defo 10/10! Do not
think twice about buying it!! Please!!

Got this phone in pink today. Ive been playing on it and it seems very
easy to use and stylish. lots of people say this phone feels cheap and
tacky - but i DOESNT!!! its sofisticated and stylish with a great screen
and ease of use. here are my first impressions. Open menu the layout
is simple, things are easy to find under the correct sub-menus. Then
you go into the messaing- all phones come set on predictive text- very
annoying. on my last few phones it has taken ages!! but on this phone
its so easy, you just click options then " predictive text " and it
will turn of. sorted. the camera is a resonable 2 mega pixels. another
cute thing is when you close the phone in camera mode the camera changes
to landscape veiw and u take the pic using the camera button on the
side of the p hone- like a digital camera!! the contacts is easy to
use and the wallpapers are very nice. organiser is well planned and
well - organised!! the phone comes with a suduko game with 100 level
getting harder. something i was very pleased with was the video recording.
on my samsung d600 it recorded for 6 seconds. this phone can do almost
2 hours!!!!!!!! i havnt tryed out music facilitys yet but soon will
do. the only annoying thing aout this phone is it has no usb cable so
u have to connect via bluetooth to the PC. anyone know how? a really
good phone BUY IT!!!

I got this phone a few days ago and its really good. I use to have a
Samsung D600 which was nice but after a while it got boring. The d600
only had a few games and not much memory/etc.. So when the camera decided
to stop working on the D600 i decided it was time for a new phone. I
was going to get either this phone or the Samsung Blush. It was a hard
choice, but eventually i chose the 7373 as it has a 2mp camera. When
i first got this phone i decided to check out all the features and i
wasnt dissapointed. The phone looks gorgeous and has everything i could
ever want in a phone! The only bad thing about the phone is when videoing
you can only video around 1 minute. Apart from that this is my dream
phone. The phone dosnt come with a data cable but that was no problem
as i used the data cable from a old nokia phone and it works perfecrly.
This phone comes with a beautiful pink case and a lovely phonecharm
which are added bonuses when getting this phone! ^_^

I bought this phone on o2 a few days ago and intended for it to be my
secondary phone as I have 2 contracts. My other phone is an SE K800i.
I have been totally blown away by this phone! I'm a bit of a phone addict
and have owned well over 30 phones during the past year in hope of one
day finding my perfect phone. Now firstly, this phone is not perfect.
It does not have a fantastic music player or camera. And in term of
specs, my K800i beats it hands-down. But...I'm a girl and I can't help
loving this phone! It's now my main phone, my K800i will soon be sold
and to replace the fantastic 3.2mp camera on the K800i, I have invested
in a 7mp Sony Cybershot digital camera, which I'm sure will easily outperform
the K800i's camera! Of course, there is a 2mp camera on the 7373...easily
does the job when you want to take the odd snap during the day. But
there's no auto-focus and no flash, so evening or night photography
will be difficult and I'm quite passionate about my photos. As far as
music is concerned, I have a beloved iPod Nano, and no mobile phone-
not even the SE Walkman series, can rival the simplicity of the iPod,
so I don't even bother judging a phone based on its music capabilities.
However, one thing I'm very impressed by with the 7373 is the external
stereo speakers. Not even my K800i has those, or even any of the SE
Walkman series, as I have owned a few before I invested in my iPod.
Ringtones sound crystal-clear on the 7373. The design is unique and
brilliant. It's well-made, you can feel it. And the L'Amour design all
over the phone is stunning. A lot of thought has gone into the design
of this phone. But that does not mean it's lacking in features either.
While it will never be the best camera or music phone, what it does
do, it does very well. The display is beautiful and crystal-clear, equal
to my K800i. The keypad design is perfect - easy to hit the right keys,
very responsive, and aside from the navi-key, it shouldn't be a problem
fo r chunky fingers either! The only gripe I have with Nokia phones
is that they're never very generous with the material that comes with
the phone, like themes and wallpapers. This phone has a total of 5 themes,
only 4 as far as I'm concerned as I'll never be using the o2 theme!
However, they make up for that with other things, like the free case
and phone charm that came with mine! In conclusion, this phone is amazing.
I've heard of others having problems with it switching off, etc. My
advice would be to buy it SIM-free or on o2, as they're effectively
SIM-free and don't fill their phones with all the network software.
I've never gone for a phone on Vodafone, Orange or T-Mobile and can
honestly say the problems I've had over the last eight years, I can
count on one hand! Any woman who wants a unique, well-made and reliable
handset should invest in the 7373. It's beautiful enough to make me
want to part with my beloved K800i, a love affair that's lasted nine
months, so it's certainly got something!

them people saying its rubbish! i did have the samsung d500 but i wanted
a better camera and a better mp3! the music goes really loud, which
is good and plays it clearly. the buttons are big so textin is easy.
when you close it it looks super-stylish and loads of my friends have
commented on it! the pink colour is a perfect girls phone! downsides
are: bit chunky (but who cares?), doesn't come with a usb cable and
needs a long time to charge properly. but despite all that it's the
best phone i've had yet and i sooooo glad that i chose this one instead
of the samsung e900 which comes across as a bit boring. GET THIS PHONE!

One of the worst phones I've ever had. Its all style and the features
are rubbish. The battery cover and battery can easily fall out and when
I spoke to the guy in my local mobile shop he said it was one of the
reasons why most of them are returned. Its an ok phone if you want an
over designed air head. There are none of the modern feature the new
phones come with now. Get it and regret it!

I got this phone in pink a few months back, I had a Samsung before and
fancied a change. I loved the design of the 7373, its very stylish and
I like to think it says something about my flirty personality! I think
the battery life is normal and definately sufficient for me, the memory
isn't too good but it doesn't make a difference to me, I just empty
my inbox every few days and the problem is solved. I did drop it and
it scratched quite easily but I suppose it was my fault for being a
cluts! It's no doubt my favourite phone from my past collection and
I recommend it to anyone looking for a simple but beautifully styled
phone :) P.S The Sudoku game that mine came with is addictive too!

This phone is only really 'OK'. You can get better features on other
phones, but the winning point for this phone is the style. It does look
good. And its got a good weight to it too. The swivel feature feels
good too,it doesnt feel like it would break in a hurry. I like the 'leather
effect' (for want of a better description) on the back of the phone.
It makes the phone feel a bit better quality. The fabric tag is different,
but might get a bit tatty with use. Unusual though! The keys have a
white backlight which is much nicer than the more common blue backlight.
Some of the keys are a little awkward, not for someone with fat fingers!
The screen is good quality and clear. The camera is ok,It does the trick
with a few basic filters to play around with ( False colours, grey, sepia,
negative and solarise)but there are far better quality camera phones
on the market. I do like the fact that you can use the phone as a camera
when it is shut though. Although I do think the lens is in a stupid
place. Whoever designed it must have very small hands! There is a video
ring tone function which could be quite fun, although the drain on the
battery isnt ideal. The sound quality during a call isnt fantastic and
the speaker quality is awful. The ring tones are ok if you are a 15
year old girl, better to down load some better ones (but really you
shouldnt have too!) That goes for the wall papers and screen savers
too. The menu is the usual idiot proof nokia style which is great, You
cant lose anything! The battery life is pretty poor compared to other
phones, only 2 and a bit hours talk time. The phone comes with a free
charm and case -Nice, although a USB cable would have been more useful!
The instruction manual is poor, its best to fiddle around with the phone
and hope to find every feature. I'm sure you'd get a lot more out of
the phone with a better manual. The music player media player and radio
are all pretty run off the mill. In all I think the features on the
phone were a second thought to the design, which is the phones main
selling point. Its a great looking phone, but the features you get are
nothing to get over excited about.

Functionality is excellent and volume wise its stereo speakers are the
nuts. Only a few gripes really 1. the swivel action doesn't cancel any
operation like a slider phone. 2. My media player has just stopped working.
It's always trying to update track listing. Its not my memory card because

great phone memory you get isnt great though. You can buy new memory
cards that store thousands of songs!! Only thing i would say that was
wrong is apparently nokia 7373 have a bb5 this has something to do with
getting your phone unlocked. I cant find anyone that can unlock my nokia
7373 and i have had it since december! I really want to get it unlocked
so i can use my other simcard! The phone itself is gorgeous!! Very easy
to use!! When playing songs the speakers are great music is really loud.
Only bad thing about the phone is trying to get it unlocked and the
memory it comes with!

I got this mobile for my birthday. I was so excited about getting it,
I couldn't wait. I have only had a few problems with it. First problem
is after it has been charged it won't turn on and says test mode on
the screem, you have to take the battery out and the sim card out to
get it working again. Also I had loads of pictures and songs on my mobile
from the computer, when I went to my memory card file, all the pictures
had gone, but after a while they all came back. Overall I think it is
a brilliant phone, I love it. The problems I had are only minor. All
my brilliant features make up for the 2 tiny problems. You get lots
of good pictures with it and the ringtones are great. I couldn't decide
whether to get this mobile or a SE mobile as my cousin have the SE walkman,
but I am really glad I went for this one.

initially I was very pleased with this phone. Then after a few weeks
it started to turn itself off. This continued until it was turning off
several times a day. Also when trying to charge the phone it would stick
and I would have to take the battery out to get it working again. Battery
life is awful. I am not impressed with this phone and will not be buying

Just got this phone today. I've had loads of phones over the past few
years and couldnt even list them all anymore. Anyways - my contract
with o2 ended and i was looking for something else and i decided on
Orange. So then it was deciding what phone......... I'd never looked
at this phone properly before - i only ever knew it was available in
pink so it was strictly no go with me being a guy. : - ) But when i
seen it in bronze - i got interested. I knew it had good specs so i
looked into it more coz everything else is exactly the same like the
D900 being just an upgraded version of the D600 wih a better camera
and slimmer design. It does nothing for me anyway and the Sony Ericssons
though they are great quality just look ugly. So i settled on this -
knowing Nokia would've made a good quality handset and not many people
have got it. I wasnt wrong. Got it today - after a looooong days wait
lol and i love it. The build quality of the phone is excellent - its
sturdy and the slide round mechanism feels robust and is handy for opening
with one hand. I love the design of the phone and the extra touches
like the back battery cover being made with a leather exterior. It just
gives a high quality finish. So slide the phone round and the keypad
is similarly great. Really nice big keys that are great to text with.
I like the big 'OK' button the most in the middle - the shiny orange
button gives the keypad a bit of class like the rest of the phone. Backlight
looks good in white to - if it was blue the whole phone would lose its
sparkle. The screen is great quality to - only beaten in my opinion
by the Nokia 6131 which displays 16 million colours as apposed to 262,000.
But the 6131 isnt as good as this - believe me coz ive had the 6131
before! I love the themes that are with this phone and they look really
good with the two tone bronze and black that Nokia used for the exterior.
The normal 'Nokia blue' is still there but i prefer the browny yellow
themes that are included with the phone. As i say it just makes the
phone look complete if you understand that. Dont really know what more
there is to say really. The writers of the site have listed the specs
like they always do and gave there input which is always good to read,
so i wont bother going into what the phone does again. I'll just say
that the camera quality is great - doesnt touch Sony Ericsson k800i
obviously but it makes up for that in every other aspect. I highly recommend
this phone to everyone. Girls finally have a phone that has been made
for them - originally - as apposed to a remake of an already released
phone just painted pink like the V3. I recommend it to them highly as
theres more to it than just being pink - its got the specs to boot.
And as for us lads - well we're not missing out on this either as the
bronze and black colour scheme is made with us in mind. Nokia have a
winner here. Everything works with this phone and comes together really
well. For any lads still not convinced - i've just noticed that this
phone has been made in a BLACK version alone. So there's no excuse anymore.
Get it now. [Edior's note: thanks Mark! I wish everyone would write
such a helpful review! I'm sure that lots of our readers will thank
you for this.]

I had this phone as an upgrade. I'm a Nokia person really. I've tried
others but always come back to niokia. Like all nokia's its easy to
use with a clear and intuitive menu. Texting is easy and lets you type
without resorting to total textspeak, eg capital letters follow full
stops. It comes with a 128mb memory card which is good for a phone and
you can upgrade to 2Gb. The Noia music suite thingy compresses your
music tracks letting you get about 40 tracks on the music player. The
phone looks amazing. I'm not normally a pink person but they were out
of the black. However, it is a very subtle pink and the lovely patterned
metallic inlays make it look classy. The camera gives a sharp clear
picture in good light but not up to that quality in poor light such
as at night. Initially, I thought the swivel mechanism might be flimsy
ans break easily but it actually feels fairly robust. The battery needs
charging every 2 days with moderate use but that is usual in modern
phones that do so much more than they used to. Overall I am very happy
with this phone and would recommend it.

Have had this phone for a month now, and it's brilliant! - looks fantastic
- really chic and is easy to use. Have had to change the layout of preset
menu though as accidently startred the music player a few times (not
good whilst at work!) Takes a good quality photo/ video however a flash
would have made this even better. Sound quality is exellent, putting
alot of my friends phones to shame, as is tuning of radio. Keypad is
nice to text on and predictive texting is quick to respond and easy
to add symbols etc. Have taken this phone out on orange dolphin contract,
And it's a good job texting is unlimited as i find this phone hard to
put down!

I have been in dyer need of a new phone for well over 6 months now.
I've searched and read reviews and debated with myself which phone would
I like best. I didn't really care to have a camera or music but I kept
my options open. I knew I wanted a slide phone or something close to
it. I looked at the e900, yes it's a great phone but I really don't
need all that extra stuff on it. So I looked at the motorola rizr, it
was pretty nice but for some reason I just wasn't drawn to it. Then
I saw this phone. I feel in love. I usually don't care for pink but
for some reason this phone is it! I've her about a week now and I love
it. It has just enough features. You don't have to be a brainiac to
work the thing. Storing your messages and pictures on your memory card
isn't too much of a problem and the menus don't get confusing as you
get deeper into them. The music player is fun and pretty fair for being
on a phone, but I have an ipod and that really wasn't a selling point
for me. the camers is pretty good for a phone, 2mp and the pictures
come out looking pretty good, but then again I wasn't looking for a
camera either. All in all I really love the phone. Nokia did well with
this phone. After all it is a fashion phone when it comes down to it,
you always pay for something and I paid for looks over perfect function!
I even names her, yuko! love it! =^..^=

Love the phone, love the swivel design and love the girlie pink colour.
Better still that it was free with an upgrade! Only complaint is that
the configuration of the internal memory is a bit strange - it won't
hold many pictures / ringtones / messages and then asks you to free
up some memory space in order to send /receive a normal txt message.
Seems that you need to store pics and video clips on the memory card
instead.

I bought this phone yesterday on a complete whim. I didn't particularly
need a new phone, my current phone was in perfect condition, only a
few months old and still pretty top of the range. But I fell in love.
I'd only seen the phone once during the day and the second I got home
I searched around for the best deal online (definitely Tesco's) and
went straight back out to buy it. I don't think I'd even taken of my
coat. I am certainly not dissapointed in the features, they're all fantastic.
The design is stunning. And for the people moaning about the swivel,
if you're dumb enough not to be able to work out how to swivel something
open, GET A LIFE! It's very easy to use and I certainly haven't missed
a call because I couldn't open it, it's one of the easiest phones I've
operated. I love this phone and I would definitely recommend it.
