Nokia 6630 Review
Phone rating:
Review: February 2005. Updated July 2005.
The 6630 is Nokia's first 3G smartphone, built on the Series 60 Symbian
operating system with a wealth of pre-installed and downloadable applications.
Physically it's reminiscent of the 3660,
although its more compact and has a better keypad. In terms of functionality,
it offers everything that the 7610 can
do, with the addition of 3G, an improved camera, faster processor and
more memory.
Business applications include full always-on email support, with support
for Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and a built-in application for reading
attachments such as Microsoft Word and Excel documents. With full broadband
internet via 3G or EDGE, you can send and receive multimedia documents
very quickly indeed.
Multimedia applications include a high-resolution digital camera (1.3
megapixels) with up to one hour of video capture. You can also download
video or audio (MP3/AAC) for playback on the high quality 65k colour
display and stereo headset. The 3G connection is fast enough to enjoy
real time video streaming. The supplied software includes Nokia Video
Editor and Movie Director so you can edit the videos that you record.
The web browser provides advanced HTML support, including background
images, frames and some JavaScript so browsing the web is a much richer
experience than on most phones. The large screen is ideal for viewing
all these applications. It's not the best screen in its class, but it's
as as good as anything Nokia have previously produced and it's good
enough. It's worth noting too that the headset provides for listening
to MP3 in stereo, unlike some of the other Series 60 phones.
One feature that's notable by its absence is video calling. The 3G
functions seem to be aimed primarily at providing fast communication,
and the video calling function has been left out.
There's a full range of connectivity options, including wireless Bluetooth
support, both for headsets / car kits and for all kinds of data transfer.
You can synchronise your contacts remotely using Bluetooth or via a
cable.
The internal memory of 10 Mbytes is not going to be enough for all
of the functions available on this phone, but a 64 Mbyte memory card
is supplied and this can be hot-swapped to store or transfer data. For
users who download a lot of applications, the lack of internal memory
may be a problem. We would expect this to be remedied in the next generation
of 3G smartphones.
Battery life is excellent for a phone of this kind. Depending on usage,
it should be possible to get a couple of days use from this phone between
charges.
A word of caution: some users are reporting reliability problems with
this phone and it would be well worth reading the user reviews below
before purchasing. The 6630 has now been superseded by the Nokia
6680.
Features of the Nokia 6630 include:
- Series 60 smartphone with 3G functionality
- Display: Active Matrix TFT display with 65,536 colours, 176 x 208
pixels
- 1.3 megapixel camera (1280 x 960 pixels) with 6x smooth digital
zoom

- Video editing with Nokia Video Editor, Movie Director application
for automated fun video production
- Real Player for playing video and music (including MPEG4, MP3, AAC
and other formats)
- Fast data: 3G (WDCMA) & EDGE broadband internet (WDCMA: maximum
download 384kbps; upload 128kbps - EDGE: maximum download 236.8kbps;
upload 118.4kbps )
- Messaging: SMS, MMS, email, instant messaging
- True Tones, polyphonic ringtones
- Voice Features: voice dialling, voice commands, voice recorder,
integrated handsfree speaker
- Stereo headset included
- Web browser with improved HTML support (supports background images,
frames and JavaScript)
- Java applications - MIDP 2.0, CLDC 1.1, 3D API (JSR-184)
- WAP 2.0, EGPRS
- Connectivity: Bluetooth (full support for data and headsets),
USB 2.0, IrDa
- Data Transfer application for moving contacts, calendar, images,
videos and voice clips
- Advanced contacts database with support for multiple phone and email
details per entry, also supports thumbnail picture and groups
- Memory: 10 Mbyte user memory + 64 Mbyte hot swap reduced size MMC
card
- Tri band + 3G networks
- Size: 110 x 60 x 21 mm
- Weight: 127g

I have had this phone approx a month now, and have had none of the problems
mentioned in the bad reviews, i have found this phone easy to use and
reliable with a truly remarkable 1.3m pixel camera, a lot of the problems
are caused by not closing or exiting the programmes properly, to rectify
this press and hold the menu button for a couple of seconds, it will
show the programmes that are open, then simply select them one at a
time and close or exit them.

I hate this phone!!! I is definately the most unreliable nokia i have
ever had. My first handset use to run out of battery within 12 hours,
even when not talking on it. I had this one exchanged within the first
month. The second handset had a list of problems, Turned itself off
several times a day, didnt have network half the time, ran out of battery
quickly, missed calls and texts from friends and family to name a few.
They sent this one to be repaired and it came back worse therefore got
a new handset. 1st day i had it it turned itself off more than the old
one!!!! I have now persuaded vodaphone to give me a totally different
handset and have just recieved my new sony ericsson v800, which, incidently
i already love!!! I just have to say it again, i hate the nokia 6630
and was happy to wave bye bye to it today!!

This phone was perfect for a while. Nice and easy to use and i like
the way you can choose your own 'shortcut' keys. However i've recently
had a similar problem to others - texts wont send. They stay in the
outbox for a while then fail. I keep having to turn the phone off and
on in order to send it. Usually after i turn it back on again i recieve
one or two texts sent to me ages ago (which simply didn't come through
at the time). Also while the phone is playing up like this, people who
call me get put straight to answer machine. WHY?!! Apart from this,
everything else is great. Love the video camera! One last thing, i'm
not convinced the battery lasts as long as Nokia suggests.

I've had a serious problem with my 6630 on Vodaphone UK. This has also
been experienced by other 6630 owners elswhere. The 6630 loses network
becuase it is too hesitant to handover to 2G when 3G network coverage
is poor. This means missed calls & heavy drain on battery current for
some reason. Apparently version 3.45 of the firmware gives the option
to switch off 3G. I sent the phone off to the Nokia repair centre &
it came back with the same problem. Iā?Tve contacted Nokia three times,
then Vodaphone UK about this, they say they will only support firmware
version v2.39 151 which does not have the option to switch off 3G. Perhaps
becuase they paid £billions for the 3G licence so they are not
too keen to allow people to switch it off. The result is a phone that
is totally unreliable & loses coverage. I found a way round the problem
at symbian-freak.com. You can download 'Net monitor' from their site
which gives the option to switch off 3G. So I am not pleased with Vodaphone
or Nokia. The phone has been an absolute nuisance until I did hours
of research & found the solution myself. They have been of no assistance
whatsoever in helping me solve the problem. I'm sure most people will
just take the phone back & ask for their money back. I feel that these
two multi national corporations have let me down & only some enthusiastic
amateurs at symbian-freak.com provided me with the solution ! What on
earth are Vodaphone playing at treating customers like this ? It's time
Nokia released firmware v3.45 in the UK. Then at least you could switch
off the blasted 3G without having to download 'Net monitor'. Now I've
found a way to switch off 3G the phone works fine & the battery lasts
much longer no thanks whatsover to Nokia or Vodaphone UK. This phone
may have terrific features but it no good if you can't rely on it as
a phone !

All the problems that people mention in these reviews are soooo easily
solved. 1. To lock keys press the left menu button (just above the 1
key) n quickly press the star. 2. To autolock keys go to tools > settings
> security > phone and sim > autolock (code is 12345) 3. To stop the
phone freezing/restarting close some applications as you go along. (there
are probably some that you think you have closed still open) Do this
by holding the menu key for 2 secs n pressing the c on each application.
However, the phone is also automatically set to restart when all network
connection is lost. This rarely happens unless you live in one of those
areas where connection to the networks is poor.

Got my 6630 free (Orange Premier contract). I've moved from the 3 network
(from 'that' Nokia phone), so I'm currently experiencing mobile-phone
Zen :) I've never used anything other than Nokia, so I really can't
compare the usability of Symbian's OS against other makes. I t does
have its shortcomings (instability in low-mem situations) but it Does
The Job(tm). I have to seriously question the value of a Word and Excel
viewer on such a small device. It seems more of a gimmick than a NUF
(Nice Useful Function). If you like you music though, this phone does
a nice rendition of your favourite mp3's. The supplied headphones are
a slight let down, but if you consider they are a freebie, their value
becomes apparent. Mine were replaced by nice Sony earphones (via a DIY
job) which improved clarity somewhat (not to mention being more comfortable
to wear) but still leaves bass sounding a little murky. Overall sound
quality is on a par with low-end standalone players. It seems Nokia
have worked out the earlier problems, unless I have just been lucky.
I was somewhat surprised to learn of Orange users problems. Back in
the day (well, a year ago) when I was with Orange I couldn't fault them.
Certainly they are now looking after me quite nicely. For £55
monthly, I guess they should do. I've only awarded 4 stars because I
feel Sybian could do better with their software (literally, I could
do better). Also, the supplied headphones were (for me) unusable in
their ear-chafing uncomfortableness.

its in! This is an ABSOLUTLY outstanding phone (beats the d500 by miles
when it is working!!!) but only when it is working it is a good phone.
this is hard for me to admit but i would say anyone considering this

Great phone, but once in a while couldn't read memory card. Maybe the
original card not so good. Will change to 256MB card anyway. Shall see
how. On the other hand, there's a way to do the key lock thingy. In
fact 6630 does have an autolock feature, but in order to unlock you
need to input your security code, which by default is 12345. just go
to settings>security>phone and sim>autolock period(minute). Overall,
Software is so, so only. On the hardware the camera, bluetooth, long
lasting battery, speaker for phone & MP3 is great.Physical wise it's
easy to hold on,screen is big (I see it's even bigger then Nokia 6600)
& brilliant and lastly, the keypad is in good position. Overall, it's
an excellent phone.

themes make the colours almost neon there so good and its bright.the
battery is better than i expected as is the mp3 player through the headfones.i
find video good and full screen playback through 90 :a bonus.everything
else does what its supposed to do.if only they would get rid of the
stubborness of the unit just collapsing if it cant be bothe red to carry
out an operation.im only giving it 3 stars and recommend anyone in need
of a speedy response phone or anyone short tempered leave this phone
alone,it needs time and is unreliable in anything other than talk &

I've had this phone just over 4 months. I have to admit that I've never
had a serious problem with it. The last phone I had was a Siemans SL55,
so imagine my joy to get hold of a phone that doesn't randomly delete
your phonebook, make random calls or turn itself off in the middle of
a conversation. I'm on Orange and this phone can do everything I ask
of it no matter where I am in the country. The sync to the PC is fantastic,
the shape and style of the phone is brilliant. If you want to keylock
use the button on the right side of the phone, don't order any extra
software! The camera is brilliant, and my limited experience with the
videocalling has gone well so far (England to Scotland). If you've ever
been disappointed by a phone before get this one as it makes up for
every negative mobile experience you've ever had!

Its an amazing phone. absoloutly superbe, it does absolutly everthing
that you could want in a fone, i think personaly its even better than
the 9 series communicators, for one particulate reason, its smaller!
I can also say that i have actualy found a phone with a decent camera.
theres only one downfall to this mobile phone and thats the memory.
You cant get a rs-mmc card for it yet. ordinary ones do not work, but

Let's first seperate the hardware from the software. Let me start with
the software. Symbian are stupid. If you want to auto key lock your
phone you have to buy the %^&'ing auto key app from Symbian for $5.
I had that feature for free and installed on my 7250 and I had one on
a 7160 that I could not use on the 6630. Then you can't deactivate the
stupid welcome sound when you switch on the phone which is damn loud
and indiscrete. Also Symbian seems to take an age to boot up . So those
are the 3 things I hate the most. It seems the operating system and
the phone do not work as in unison as on previous models (7250 etc)
where you had good control over the phone settings. Apart from that
Symbian is actually a much better operating system it just needs to
start offering the same functionality that people expect. Now for the
hardware, I love it. A bit bulky and ugly, but nice. MP3 player is great
quality, speaker quality is just above average. Reduced MMC card slot
is the business. Data transfer is nice and rapid. no infrared is not
a loss with all the other connectivity options. THIS IS NOT A PHONE
FOR GAME LOVERS. the 5 way scroll button makes it hard to play most
games. I keep getting kicked out a game because I pushed the centre
part of the scroll key. very annoying, but Im not a big game fan anyway.
The only spect to the phone I have not tried is 3G (still waiting for
my service provider to offer the service). Also I was dissapointed that
so many apps that worked on the 6600 and 7610 do not work on the 6630.
Oh one more bad thing - sometime the pC suite hangs the windows XP explorer
on my laptop and I have to reboot. Installing apps is lightning fast
with the supplied usb cable though. Camera quality is good but ned some
image stabilisation, video recorder qaulity is not the greatest especially
of you move - also needs some stabilisation technology.

Once again Nokia leads the way!!. I bought this phone a couple of days
ago on contract with Orange, and not to put to finer point to it, this
phone really is amazing, I've always had Nokias. my current phone being
the Nokia 3650 phone, yea ok it was a good phone, but the Nokia 6630
puts it well and truly in the shade in terms of sound, graphics etc.
This is the first phone I've had with MP3 ringtones, and I have to admit,
I'm well impressed, the phone is also very loud when set to the highest
setting, I'm so glad that Nokia have done away with the receiver speaker
as the ringtone speaker, there is now a separate speaker located on
the top of the phone, from which every sound of the phone plays though,
the sound is clear and crisp to, with none of that cheap tiny sound.
On a whole the Nokia 6630 is excellent value for money and built extremely
well. I have been comparing this phone with my old 3650 and it's just
wipes the floor with it, the video quality and sound quality is truly
amazing to say the least, It has a weighty feeling of quality to it
and it comes with loads of accessories, For people reading the bad reviews
of this phone you don't want to believe them who say its rubbish, because
it's not, ok it's not the easiest phone to use, but then again it is
a high end phone and it's not just something you text your mate with,
if you want a easy to use phone then get a budget Nokia. A couple of
quick pointers that I would like to point out, if your wanting to put
high quality video files onto this phone then I would recommend ( MPEGABLE
X4 LIVE ) , it's a great peace of software and will give you ability
to encode in Mpeg 4, 3GP with stereo sound, it's good for the techys
among us who what to achieve CD quality sound and near dvd picture quality
which in my option is just what's needed for the 6630. The second pointer
is to do with the Vodaphone version of the Nokia 6630, if you want to
set your mp3 as ringtones, then you will lose out because you cant,
Vodafone have for some reason locked this feature out, so if you want
this phone to be as it should be then go with either Orange or T-Mobile
at time of writing they are the only 2 that support this phone with
all features. So my conclusion of this phone is that's light years a
head of another phones out on the market, the battery life, the screen,
ringtones etc are all amazing and very impressive, I would recommend
this phone to anyone. And one last thing, the express on covers are
the finishing touch.

Having had a Nokia 3650 (quite similar in build looks to the 6630) for
just over 2 years, a new phone was required. After 5 days of ownership
I am pretty impressed. The 3650 had was very good at navigating around
the phones operating system, the 6630 has improved on this with the
ability to designate the centre buttons left, right,up & down arrows
to specific functions that you want. Image quality is much better for,
but it does like as much light as possible. Low light images are not
as clear as they could be, but this is to be expected as there is no
built in flash. Have had a slight niggle with the memory card, which
seemed to disconnect itself from the phone, but this seems to have resolved
itself now.

Just over a week ago, I upgraded my handset from a Nokia 6310i to the
Nokia 6630. I am on a pay monthly contract with Orange. I wanted to
take the opportunity to throw in my opinion on this phone. Firstly,
the hardware. I like it. It is a nice size, shape and weight. The only
issue that I have is that the keys are small - very small - and this
makes using the phone one-handed difficult. Maybe I shouldn't be trying
to drive and text at the same time - who knows ! Now on to the real
problems that I have with the phone - the software problems. Let me
start by saying that if you want to use the phone for voice calls, text
messaging and using the camera, then this is great. The problems start
when you want to use the phone for more than that - when you want to
use the phone as Nokia would have you believe that you can. Most of
the issues that I have are niggles rather than show stoppers, but at
some point a whole heap of niggles becomes a show stopper. Some of my
issues are to do with the software on the phone itself, but the biggest
issues that I have are with the software connecting the phone to the
PC. Software on the phone My issues with the software on the phone are
: On my 6310i, within the calendar, I used to be able to set a "call"
item which had an alaram associated with it. On the 6630, I cannot do
this. I can set a memo (no alarm), a meeting, or an anniversary. I wind
up having to set a meeting, but the number does not come up immediately
for me to call - which it did on the 6310i. On the To Do list, it is
not possible to set an alarm. Also on the to do list, it is not possible
to put in more information. For example, you might want a To Do item
of "Supermarket" and then be able to list the stuff that you want from
the supermarket. You can make a shopping list as a note, but again -
no alarm on the notes, and no way of associating the note with the To
Do item. Still on the To Do list (yes I have been playing around with
this !), you are stuck with the default sort order, which is based on
when the task is due. You cannot sort on, for example, the priority,
so that the high priority items appear higher in the list than the low
priority items. ALSO, you cannot filter out items which have been completed.
Once an item has been marked as completed, it stays in the lsit unless
you delete it. It would be nice just to be able to see those items which
are still 'current'. Finally, it would be good to be able to clear the
entire list without having to go through each item individually. Software
connecting the phone to the PC This is where my big issues come in,
and first on that list is synchronisation with my PC. It seems that
several people have had this issue, but I cannot find anything anywhere
telling me how to cure it. The first time that I connected my phone
to my PC (via Bluetooth) it worked - I managed to synchronise my 6630
with Microsoft Outlook on my Windows XP PC. Since then it has not worked
whether I use Bluetooth or the USB cable to physically connect the phone
and the PC. A smaller issue is that the software could be a bit cleverer
about how it does the synchronisation - ie: it could look in ore than
one - for example, contact - folder for contacts, and it could decide
that some numbers can safely be left on the PC without synchronisation,
and some could be synchronised. It is also frustrating that the phone
lets me have groups of contacts (a feature that I like, which the 6310i
did not have), but from within the Nokia PC Suite, I cannot 'see' these
groups, and thus cannot work with them - ie: create new ones, and change
the members of a group. That's it - that's my list of issues to date.
It may seem a lot, but most are niggles. The only one which I see as
being more than a niggle is the synchronisation issue. It seems that
there is software out there - Oxygen Phone Manager - which might solve
some of the problems that I have with the phone to PC software. I haven't
tried it yet, but probably will, even though I object to having to pay
more for something that the phone ought to do out of the box. I have
tried to get in touch with both Orange and Nokia and about these issues
have found them to be unknowledgable and slow in replying. This seems
to be reflected in other reviews. In conclusion, annoyingly this phone
has the potential to be great, but it is let down by sloppy software.

I've upgraded from the Motorola V500 and was glad to get back to Nokia.
The phone isn't small but then again its not clumpy or bulky, its slim
enough to fit into your back pocket comfortably. After having my play
I think it's amazing, the ability to download mp3 music and edit with
Fireplay and Musicplayer is amazing. The video recording as also exceptional,
even though my boyfriend hated it when I chased him around the house.
I will say the most anyoing thing is the Automatic Find. Basically once
you go into something and dont exit out by using BACK all the way, and
you decide to go back into the program it goes back to the page you
exited out of. This also applies with Phone book which gets very annoying.
Overall excellent Phone.!!!

Due for an upgrade on my Nokia 7250i, I got somewhat beguiled by the
beauty of the Samsung D500. However, only after one day of using the
D500 I knew I had made a mistake changing from Nokia. I tried to persevere
but just 3 days after getting the D500 I was back in the TMobile shop
begging them to change it for the Nokia 6630. What a GREAT move. The
6630 is a great phone and although it doesn't look as pretty as the
D500 it's just a classier number. At least it can ring and vibrate at
the same time, something that Samsung just can't seem to master! I am
not particularly technologically minded so I will leave the techno garb
to other reviewers! However I do know that I am very pleased with the
quality of the camera, video and MP3 player. It has all the standard

To start off with i liked this phone, it has some good points, such
as connecting to the Pc for downloading or uploading of images and mp3's
is really easy, and although it is big ish, it is not too big, and felt
comfy in my hands, and i kinda like the syling too, not too pimp looking,
but is kinda cool to look at. Then on week 3 i had my first problem,
the phone book simply vanished, and if you typed in a number, the phone
reset. notice someone else had this. Got my new phone the next day off
of T-mobile so wasn't too bothered, but then i had my second problem
all the games i had paid for and downloaded which were on the memory
card, and so i still had, simply wouldn't load onto the new phone, i
could see them, but they would not open or install, this phone lasted
about a week before the same thing, next phone another week, and then
the last one about 3 days. Luckily T-mobile have allowed me to swap
the phone for another, so just waiting on a smsung D500 to come into
stock. Well i am disapointed that my phone broke so many times in some
respects cus i did like it, but the fact i can swap to a D500 now is
better, cus i have a few friends who have one and it is simply a much
better phone in most aspects, and is so much smaller too with the same
camera and same features pretty much and a better screen. Also works
which is important i feel.

I got this phone yesterday on Orange. It's awesome. I was worried about
the size and looks of the phone, but it's really not that large and
looks great. It takes some time to get used to the OS, making the phone
quite hard to use at first, but you do get used to it. In addition,
the phone is quite slow, but this is inevitable given the amount of
things it does and the number of applications. The camera is slightly
disappointing, but it is still very good. My choice of a new phone came
down to D500, V3 and 6630. I'm glad I went for the 3G option with the
6630 - this really is a cut above the rest and very much a look into
the future of mobile technology. The phone is by no means perfect but
it is still an incredible bit of kit.

OK - an update. Orange were no use - out of stock and no replacement.
They said they couldn't find the fault by running a remote diagnostic
and would refer it to their tech boys, but they never got back to me.
BUT, I tried the hard reset listed on this forum - worked like a charm!
OK, I lost everyting and had to set up the phone again, but no big deal
- the phone has been great since (NB: saving the phone settings using
the PC suite prior to the hard reset only restored the bug in the software
when I tried to re-install afterwards. TIP: Back up your phone when
it's running properly and if it goes belly up, hard reset and restore
the uncorrupted data from the PC.) Battery takes a bit of a hammering
when listening to music and browsing for 45 mins to work and back twice
a day - you'll only get 2 days out of it. Lasts much longer when using
it as a phone/camera while sightseeing. MP3 player sounds great and
better than I expected - stereo sound is quite well balanced for treble/mid/bass
through the supplied 'phones despite no equalizer, but I'd like it better
if you could plug your own into a 3.5mm jack socket. I've got 16 tracks
on my 64Mb card. I'll be getting a bigger card soon. Photo quality is
great for a phone, and 6x zoom works seamlessly - it's just a shame
I lost all my snaps when it died and needed a reset. I don't much like
the Orange theme for the phone, but I have set it to the standard Nokia
(already installed) and it's much better. I looked at the Samsung D500
and I much prefer the feel and interface of the 6630 now I have adapted
from my N6100. My significant other has the new Samsung Z107 which she
loves and finds dead easy to use and has the same interface as the D500,
but I am glad I got the N6630 as I feel the Samsung a bit toy-like and
the Samsung PC software is naff compared with the Nokia. The 6630 is
quite a large object, but the 6100 is there for taking to the pub. Don't
be put off - highly recommended now it's sorted. Thanks to the other

look and feel; however the smartphone, camera and other advanced features
are also intuitive to use (unlike the Eriksson P900 which I had for
6 weeks and was a nightmare to operate). PC connectivity via Bluetooth
or the USB cable worked 1st time using PC Suite v 6.41.6. Outlook calendar
and contact sync, file and application download, direct to the phone
over Bluetooth from the internet via a PC all work fine. Have not used
3G at his time due to unavailability on South African Network. HDW-3
headset works extremely well, is clear and has better range than Bluetooth
specification; it is also very comfortable to wear using the black flexible
ear clip (1 of 4 supplied). Camera resolution is good and easy to use,
though low light sensitivity is not great. The loudspeaker mode works
fine as a conference phone. Have not found a feature that I don't like

all worked OK but then started to crash constantly yesterday evening.
The PC Suite doesnt want to work on windows XP (only some parts of the

is very quick compared with a Sony Ericsson P900 which I used for a
few weeks last year. The build quality is not average (i wish manufacturers
would build solid business phones). Who wants x-press on covers for
a smart phone. Nokia seem to be confussed there i think. Still the phone
looks ok even though i found it a bit bulky. I dont like the nokia navigation
key (the big key in the middle) it doesnt always take you where you
want to go. I have used a 6310i for over 2 years and i loved that phone.
Why cant nokia buid phones like that anymore. Anyway to round it off
i would recommend you buy this phone direct from your service provider

N6630 via T-Mobile and what a difference, it has all the original Nokia
software and more.. but the main thing is it works.

It's a nokia, people! What do u excpect? The camera is fantastic, the
screen is the best in the 65k class, the keyboard really responsive
and fast to use, the memory is enough, actually, with the 64 mb MMC
in the package, the contacts database and the calendar are perfect for
bussines users, the bluetooth connection is ok, it's the smallest in
the 3G class (smaller than I thought would be), it's perfectly assembled
although has a plastic cover, it suports any kind of format for ringtones
(wave, mp3, etc) so u can use any music u like, both speakers (ear and
loudspeaker) are very powerful, etc... I could go on and on an on. But,
battery life is a little poor, recharge every 2 days with 30 minutes
per day talk and the absence of the touch screen makes it a bit tricky
to navigate through the complicated menu and applications. I'm really
happy about it so far, especially because I bought it new for only 350
euros. I think u should wait some months because I think they will lunch
an improved version of it. Have a good time!

With pear-shaped curves, the 6630 is most of all reminiscent of Nokia's
second-ever smartphone, the 3650. Quite a different beast, however,
the 6630 is a superbly solid device with excellent build quality and
above-par ergonomics. In sleek grey and charcoal, the 6630 boasts a
high-brigthness TFT display with the standard Series 60 resolution of
176 x 208 pixels which offers a suitably large amount of screen estate
with all of its 65,536 colours coming across clear and crisp. As an
added bonus, users can themselves adjust brightness to the preferred
level, ranging from bleak to glaring. Its keypad is as pleasing in use
as its chassis is on the eyes: tactile feedback is excellent and all
buttons are placed in a logical manner - quite a feat, considering Nokia's
knack for quirky keypads. Apart from the required Series 60 keys, the
left and right sides respectively harbour voice dialing and power/profile
selection buttons, whilst the right side also holds a hinged plastic
flip-protected RS-MMC expansion slot. Moving onto the back of the device,
we find the super-size lens for the 1.23 Megapixel camera of the phone,
which performs with the clarity and aplomb we've come to expect from
Nokia. The only situation in which the camera doesn't take comparably
great pictures is under quite poor indoor lighting, and so it should
come as no surprise that Nokia's continuing ommission of a photo flash
continues to befuddle us. On the upside, video recording appears vastly
improved, and the 6630 can now record up to one hour at a time - although
the resolution remains 176 x 144 pixels, also known as QCIF. With 10
MB of user available RAM and a bundled 64 MB RS-MMC card, there's a
generous amount of space available to store photos - but the 6630 hides
a dirty little secret: its RS-MMC slot only accepts 1.8 Volt cards,
meaning users run the quite tangible risk of having previously purchased
RS-MMC cards not be compatible with the 6630. In a word: D'oh! It's
a good thing Nokia decided to mitigate this by making memory cards truly
hot-swappable.

What can I say I am stunned! This phone has truly raised the bar of
what is pheasably possible of the ultra modern sophisticated phones
for a busy business man. Although the internal memory(10mb, However
64mb card is provided) and 65k colour screen are the only things I could
find wrong with this beautiful phone. In every other department it excells
or matches any phone on the market! The 1.23m pixel camera is fantastic!
The only other phone even comparable is the Sharp GX30 and that phone
is superior in all departments. If I had to choose between them two
phones i would choose the fabulous Nokia 6630! Make this your number
one christmas priority and believe me it won't dissapoint!

I've been waiting for this phone for quite sometime now and finally
i have it. The features are really cool. the only complain i wanna raise
up is about the CD ROM that is included in the package.i was thinking
it's much better that it is also compatible with window 98 but it's
not :-( when it comes to setting the theme of the phone, 6600 is much
better. I also had a difficulty in connecting via the serial cable.(
maybe i did something wrong in the set up. HELP HELP HELP!!! hope i
can fix it). I'm used with infrared. To sum it up, it's still the best
phone of nokia.

Having just purchased this phone from what I can see from it is that
with the camera it is ok taking pictures in the daylight but at night
it looks grainy. Also the phone has locked up when I have been going
through some functions on the phone and the screen goes white and switches
off. The good side about this phone is the 3G as it downloads a lot
quicker than before. One other downside to this phone is that it had
no games when I purchased this phone I had to download them besides
these flaws the phone is ok but it is up to you if you wish to purchase
this phone or not.

This phone has taken, what seems an age, to get in to the palm of my
hand. I tried so hard, for so long, to get this and finally, yes finally,
I have it. It is amazing - a truely wonderful phone. I'm not one of
those "geeky" people who go on about specificatons etc (if you want
to know what it's got, have a look at Nokia website - it doesn't lie),
but I do know my way around these sort of technological inventions.
The camera is fantastic - evening in darkened places, and everything
about it is quick (downloads etc). I had a 7610 which i liked but got
bored of quickly - the camera on that was good, but this is in a different
league. Everything about this phone is in a different league!!! I've
had a fair few phones in my time, but I have to say I will not be changing
this one in quite some time - I love it. The only negative point I would
give it is that it is a little chunkier than I thought it would be,
but you soon get over that very quickly.

to sell it to upgrade to N6630 since it appeared in VN. Forget all of
others, take N6630 to enjoy the excelence.

about Nokia 6630,I thought that this's the time I should change my Phone. But
in my country,It's too long to wait until it appears. Therefore,I bought
Sony Ericsson S700i.However,I think Nokia 6630 and SE S700i are both
the most modern mobile phones in the world now.If you choose one of
them,I suppose that you've made the best choice for your job and for
