Nokia 6280 Review

Phone rating:

Review: February 2006. Updated November 2006.

The Nokia 6280 is a 3G slide phone. It's not a smartphone, but has virtually all of the high-end capabilities that normally come with a 3G smartphone, but without the Symbian operating system. The fact that it has a conventional Series 40 operating system makes the user interface fast and responsive.

It's a nice looking phone, about the same size as the Samsung D600, but with a squarer shape. One of the key benefits of a slide-up design is that it enables a large screen to be placed within a compact phone design, and for once Nokia have supplied a screen that doesn't disappoint. The display is a high quality 262k colour screen with a very high resolution of 320 x 240 pixels - as good as anything on the market today. It is prone to collect dust however. There are two cameras on the phone: an excellent 2 megapixel camera on the rear side of the phone for taking still images, and a front-mounted VGA camera for video calling. These are both excellent cameras.

Music is catered for with a music player for MP3 tracks and Visual Radio. Sound output is in stereo, and a stereo headset is supplied. The phone comes with 74 Mbytes of built-in memory plus an expandable memory card - ideal for storing music and video. The 6280 also has an interesting and novel feature - video ringtones!

Connectivity is fully supported, with Bluetooth, USB 2.0 and infra-red, as well as super-fast internet access via EDGE or 3G, supporting download speeds of up to 384 kbps, and upload speeds of 128 kbps. Battery life is very good for a 3G phone.

The Nokia 6280 is potentially one of the best 3G phones currently available. However, it is very unreliable and there have been a variety of faults reported - from memory card faults, to shutting down and even total failure. It's a shame, but we really can't recommend the 6280. Now replaced by the Nokia 6288.

Features of the Nokia 6280 include:

  • 3G functionality (including video calling)
  • 2 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom and integrated flash
  • VGA camera for video calling
  • Display: Active Matrix, 262,144-colours, 320 x 240 pixels
  • Music player with stereo output (stereo headset supplied)
  • Visual Radio
  • Video ringtones
  • Messaging: SMS, MMS, Instant Messaging, email (SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4)
  • Java games
  • XHTML web browser
  • Memory: 74 Mbytes plus miniSD card
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth, USB 2.0, Infra-red
  • WAP, GPRS Class 10, EDGE (up to 236.8 kbps) & 3G (up to 384 kbps download)
  • Triband + 3G
  • Size: 100 x 46 x 21 mm
  • Weight: 115g
  • Talktime: up to 3 hours (3G) or 4 hours (2G)
  • Battery standby: up to 250 hours (2G or 3G)

I had my nokia yesterday after having a samsung d600 and a sony ericsson and was worried wiv all the reviews it has had, reporting failures and dust etc but i seem to have picked one of the lucky ones,i got it with t-mobile and comparing 3's version to t-mobile you can tell the difference as t-mobile one is solid and dont feel so plastic and the slider function is sooo smooth, also i haven't so far had any problems with screen turning black or switching off and i have played with it loads too.The camera is really good with a few features to make pics more interesting. Also memory comes cheaper than sony memory stick as sd cards are so cheap to get.I dont think this phone is a brick by any means, after having the sony ericsson w900i you will know what a brick is.I wish nokia had provided a bigger memory card though so thats why i have only given 4 stars.Call quality is good, nice and clear and im surprised by the battery,i have been playing with it alot and it hasn't lost any power at all. This phone for me has lured me back to nokia after a long time of being with other manufacturers and im sure i will be sticking with this a lot longer than the w900i,i recommend anyone get one but with t-mobile and for those people who have sent loadsa texts beleiving they haven't sent cuz of not returning to standby,if you look at the top of screen you will see an animated arrow going up as its sending, when its sent it stops, just a tip from me to save people credit, hope this helps. So well done nokia im back!!!!

sent back the nokia 6111 (another review) and thought this would be the one! had memory, good camera, video, music player, slide phone, big screen, looks good etc. When it came, it suffers with the same dilema that the 6111 suffers from.....far too plasticky made, I really couldn't see it lasting that long. some reviews said about dust behind the screen? and the way the quality is I dont doubt it and already decided this one wasn't for me. The menu was quite computer type looking and typically nokia, so, easy to use. But in the end I opted for the sony ericson w810i as it has all this phone has, but is far better, sturdier built with much much better quality,( i'm sure the nokia wouldn't have lasted a year) better camera, sound, SHED LOADS of memory! I've always been with nokia and never thought I'd be with another, but I'm soooo glad I've made the switch. It's a lovely feeling knowing without any doubt that you've got the best!!

This is an unbeleivable phone! I have been after a slider for ages and persuaded by the brilliant deals with 3 I went for it. I love the tones, gaming is fabulous and having the constant companion of a 2meg camera has virtually replaced my digicam as the software makes it so easy to transfer from the phone to pc. Highley recommended and although squarey (you girls know what I mean;) ) it is a wonderful phone to work with and to show off with. Go to 3 and get one on bargain contract!

Have been with Orange for 10 years and i decided to give three a go. After hours of searching forums i decided on either the N70 or 6280 and finaly plummed for the 6280. My first impression was that it seemed to plastic feeling but carried on playing with the phone. Once you start to play with it you begin to realise that it's a pure joy to use. On first impressions you also thing it's a bit of a brick and when you start to compare it's not. The screen and display is superb, why oh why could they not put this screen in the N70. Anyway after several hours of use the 6280 failed, i turned it on the screen went fuzzy and flashed and the phone has not worked since. I then spent 2 hours on the phone to three getting passed from department to department!!!!!! Three have told me that they are going to arrange a door to door exchange within 48 hours which is quite impressive if it happens. I really hope that the replacement 6280 is ok as i think overall the phone is an excellent phone with good sound and superb screen. I will post again to let you all know my findings. By the way i have noticed that the three signal in some reviews is bad. I live in Lancashire near the coast and the signal is great.........anyone want to have a chat abour the 6280 or three drop me a line d_rob@hotmail.co.uk

Got mine recently after not being bothered to wait for the N91. Have to say I have been impressed. Feature wise this is certainly up there with any smartphone. It has all the features you could want. The slide mechanism on mine is fine, but it does feel a little plasticy and not constructed as well as the Samsung sliders. The 2MP camera is also great, not quite as good quality as the Sony Ericssons, but still very impressive. A downer is the internal memory. This is relativly low, but with a 64MB card included this shouldnt be a problem. I tend to use the card though for musical purposes, and found the PC suite supplied a breeze to use. The CD ripping software is very good and once on the phone the quality of the aac format is high. Only quarm comes with the actual connection, its a bit tempramental and doesnt always connect.Overall a superb phone from nokia, especially as i never envisaged buying it.

Overall this phone is pretty impressive. It feels pretty good, the slide works well, the number/text keys are very user-friendly for even freddy-fatty-fingers like me. It is extremely easy to navigate around and menus are user friendly and easily configurable into a variety of layouts. Something for everyone. This is my first Nokia phone (I'm usually a Sony Ericsson man) and I must say that it has taken me awhile to get used to doing things in 5 or 6 key strokes when I am used to doing it in one or two. The camera on this phone is good and the video aspects work well too. Although the bandwidth where I'm located seems to make for pretty sketchy images from the person that I'm talking too. When I first got this phone I thought that it might be a little fragile, but I have dropped this phone on hard surfaces more times than one would think is humanly possible and it still works. I took out a subscription on the 3 network and convinced my girlfriend to get one too so we can talk for free, anyway, she was taking a photo where she dropped the phone into a bucket full of muddy water. The phone was submerged for at least a 30 seconds while we tried to find it and when we finally got it out it worked in a limited way immediately, and after a small drying period worked perfectly. The memory card that comes with the phone is only good for about 20 songs, which means that you have to sychronize regularly but that is ok. The battery hasn't been a problem for me, but I place it on a charger every night. Seems the more often I charge it the longer the battery lives (It can now go three or four days without running out). The camera gives a pretty good result in a lot of differing light conditions. However there seems to be a real problem in rotating photos (or maybe I'm just incompetent). My phone has no games on it so can't comment on that, but has a few cool java appalets on it that work well. The file structure is nowhere near as good as a Sony Ericsson and the contact structure as detailed but nowhere near as user friendly. I would recommend this phone whole heartedly as it is a great phone, but Nokia could take a few usability lessons from Sony Ericsson. Hope it helps. Cheers Stew

I've had no problems with it. It doesn't reboot by itself, works very quickly and takes great pictures! I wanted SonyEricssonW900i but people in the shop said Nokia is far better. So I got it on Three now. And also the phone is great looking! And the slide mechanism is the best of all the phones I used. I particurarly love the clipping sound when you close the phone! And all the great features paked into it! It is my second Nokia and I am happy I didn't get anything else instead! And the reception is flawless escpecially on Three.

First off this phone is great. It has lots of features and can compete with any of the other popular phones on the market. It is by far IMO better than the D600. Having had both phones i think i am qualified to say that. I have had a smalle problem with the phone like the screen going black twice when iv changed settings. However this is minor and has only happened twice out of a possible 30+ changes. The only other complaint i would have is with the slide mechnesism. I sometimes feel that it is to flappy (if you understand me). One other thing i would like to point out is that some people moan that it has the old s40 operating system but i find this a good thing because the phone runs fast and smoothly campared to the N70 for example. Overall i top phone if you can put up with the odd mishap (which all phones have).

I read so many reviews before finally deciding to keep this phone. They all confused me. Some love the phone, others hate it! I switched to 3 after having been with orange for 10 years. Was slightly worried, but so far 3 have been brilliant. And I think they've ironed out all their problems..so the bad press is undeserved (I live in london so I don't know what coverage like for the rest of UK) Anyway the first phone I had definitely had a faulty battery, so replacement sent out. And it seems to be fine. battery lasts for 3-4 days will moderate use (daily checking email and writing email on internet - 20-60 mins talking per day and average of 10 texts sent per day) The screen has gone black after changing profile, but that happened twice at the beggining and it hasn't happened since. Camera is ok. Sliding mechanism lovely..much nicer than the samsung (not sure of model) which feels cheap I think. Altogether a classy, easy to use, gem of a phone! nothing out there comparable in my opinion!

This is a good phone let down by silly things that should have been adressed as follows: *The t9 is tempremental, since i have added a number of words to the dictionary, and they haven't been added when i next need to use that word. *After 1 day of using this phone dust has appeared under the screen, which is easily seen under the screens own light. *I have owned this phone for 2 days, and it has crashed at least 15 times, even when just opening a text message! *It isnt much of an mp3 player either, it doesnt read id3tags, and in video or mp3 there is no fast forward or rewind. *The battery life is appaling, it only lasts a day on an overnight charge, with average use throughout the day. *The top row of keys are two close to the bottom of the screen slider, and i keep catching my finger on it. With use i expect this will wear at the silver edge. *The connector for the headphones is not a universal one, and it is used for the usb also. The plug is difficult to insert and to remove, often with one side coming out, and the other staying in, in fear of snapping somthing off! *The top plastic silver part above the screen near the on button isnt attached well, and seems loose, only attatched with glue. Other than that its a great phone! But all these issues with it, I am going back to the vodafone store where I got it, and I know I can replace it fortunately. Such a shame though because it does have lots of functions and looks pretty decent too.

Having received this handset earlier this week, I am extremely impressed. The screen is a revelation in a mobile phone, the slide mechanism works well, the battery life is perfectly adequate and the menu system is much slicker than any symbian device I have used. It did crash twice when I was changing profiles, but this has ceased and otherwise there are no problems. The camera is also surprisingly good, though I rarely use it. If you're looking for a well featured 3G handset this is the one for you!

I know everybody is complaining about poor battery life but here is why it is such a problem: For the normal old Nokia batteries to be used to their full extent you'd have to drain the battery completely before charging it again, this was to prevent losing the battery's zero point. With the new batteries that is not neccessary, you can charge them whenever you want. One problem though, you have to rain it fully and charge it full again for the first 6 or 7 times you charge the phone, after that you'll realize a huge improvement in battery life.

The only problems I have with it is the battery life. After playing songs for 2 - 3 hours the battery starts to go, worse than my previous phone. I agree with the backlight, it does go off too quick in some circumstances. When you send messages it is hard to see when it's sent, the first time I sent 5 texts to the same person! Something you will soon get used to. The 2 Megapixel Camera is great and so is the video length. The active standby suddenly comes on sometimes, which is annoying, and that you cant delete the things already on the phone. Other than that it's a great phone. I would recommend it to anybody. This is a good phone with a very good feature set. It is easy enough to use once you get used to it, however the use of the navi key is somewhat inconsistent and all settings are not logically grouped together. I think Sony Ericsson phones are overtaking Nokia in easy of use. Sending text messages is a little painful switching between upper and lower case: you have to press the hash key to get upper case, but then have to press it again to make the second letter lower case. In other screens such as the contacts, the second letter is automatically made lower case. Text messages should be like this as well. The camera is acceptable. The picture resolution of 1600x1200 is good, but the pictures come out quite grainy. It's still no replacement for a good digital camera. The calendar is really handy when you turn on the active standby screen to show today's appointments, but it has some bugs when using 12 hour time format. The clock on the standby screen is also quite ugly. Why Nokia didn't just use the normal easy to read digital clock I don't know. The phone occasionally resets itself even when the battery is well charged. This is made a little annoying by how long the phone takes to start up. It also starts up with a loud animation that can't be disabled as far as I can tell. This will present a problem in meetings or cinemas when you turn it back on. Contacts and appointments can be synchronized with Outlook using Bluetooth networking. This works OK, but the Nokia PC Suite adds two spaces between the first name and last name for some reason. Voice activated dialing is bad. Rather than recording your own tag, it uses speech recognition which requires you say the person's full name and often fails to recognize the name. It also associates with a contact rather than the contact's primary number, making it impractical for use with a headset (you still need to select the name using the phone's keypad). The phone came with no pre-loaded applications and only a handful of poor ringtones when I bought the handset from 3, which was quite disappointing. It's great that the phone accepts Mini SD cards, providing up to 2 gigabytes of storage. This makes the phone viable as an MP3 player. Transferring songs using PC suite isn't anywhere near as good as transferring to an iPod using iTunes, but it gets the job done for occasional use. The basics are all there, so it's still a good phone, but the polish on this phone is below average. Hopefully there will be an updated version that addresses these problems.

BTW sometimes when you switch the phone off and then back on again it will lose all the setting e.g. wallpaper, ring tone and u have to set them all up again. i dont know how some people can say there is nothing wrong with the battery life, i have been using nokias for so many years, this time they let me down. its going back to 3 tommoro, i am getting a 6680 or LG880. BUY IT if you happy to take the charger with u everywhere u go. BTW the charger socket is different to all the other nokia phones so good luck charging this rubbish if u froget the charger.

It has quick response software and is typically Nokia in its user friendliness - BUT - it has two incredibly poor features that can't be changed. I know its a small thing but the backlight goes off after only 10 seconds - sometimes not long enough to read a message in particular. It is SO annoying having to press a key repeatedly to do most anything. Equally hopeless is the battery life - it drains away almost overnight even with no useage. These two basic flaws led me to retuen the phone to the shop after a week and as an avowed Nokia fan I am very disappointed in having to do this.

Had the phone since saturday after getting a handset exchange from the rather disappointing motorola v3x, handset quality and features of the Nokia 6280 are great but had problems with it turning off for a few seconds, more so when I am changing profile than anything else. Also, apparently it's running short on memory even with the external memory card installed and I've only took about 10 photos so far! Thankfully the 3's customer service is 100% better than any other network and I'm picking up a new handset. The reception service is not the best but this is far outweighed with the excellent customer service! 3 are highly recommended from that aspect!

But what lets it down is the speaker, it is so quiet, do people agree please write a review and review the output of your phone. But i think it looks better than the n70, the camera is basically the same, but the speaker destroys nokias standards, maybe when they produce the next model they will enforce a new 3d surround sound speaker!

I sent the first one back because it rattled, thinking the new one would be OK, but I have just received the new one and the problem is even worse. I am exceedingly angry and frustrated by this ridiculous design flaw, it makes it painful to use the phone because everytime you press a button the two pieces of the phone bang together and you feel like you are using a broken phone. Every other aspect of the phone is excellent, but this rubbish construction makes me want to hurl it against a wall.

When it arrived it seemed okay... for the first 35 minutes then it turned itself off and won't switch back on. I got this as an upgrade. 3 got the phone to me by next day delivery so you'd think it would be as easy to return it. The bloke from 3 says that he has to send me an envelope which could take 7 days then I can send it back, involving a trip into town to the post office, and only then will they send a replacement out. Poor service 3. A great little phone let down by its unreliability and 3's shoddy customer service.

I've had this phone for about a week and there's good and bad. Good in that it has a 2mp camera, extendable memory and plenty of features. The bluetooth connection has also been very good. I have heard about dust under the glass but so far I have not noticed this. I know about the battery life concerns but this is probably no different to other 3g phones. The vulnerability of the slider mechanism just means that users need to be gentler in handling it - not like the tougher Nokias. The phone freezing is irritating but not the end of the world. My main problems are a lack of backlight adjustment and a lack of FFWD/FREW in video playback. I have also noticed that the Active Standby settings sometimes don't last, there are too many clicks to get to calculator and News webpage and it struggles with connecting calls and receiving/sending SMS - although the latter 2 are really network related, not phone related. All in all, slightly disappointing but still a good phone.

I totally agree with Wendy (12th Feb) about the UI (esp sending SMS) and overall an impression that this one's a rush job. Only had it for 2days and its frozen a few times, battery drains half bar in 5-6hrs on standby for some reason. A major worry which I haven't read from other reviews is heat generation...mine warms up quite noticeably. Also agree that the phone WILL break in half one day due to the brittle slide. Howwever, sound and camera is excellent. This is my first 3G phone, but all in all I'd rather wait for a better phone than waste money on this.

The first couple of days the battery life didn't seem to last very long but now lasts approx 2 days. The camera is excellent and takes really good quality photos. I had the same problem with limited amount of messages, photos etc even though I have a 512mb memory card - then realised that you need to move photos etc to memory card to free up memory on phone. The only thing I HATE about this phone is the problem with the dust getting behind the screen - even without taking off the protective cover the dust still finds a way to get in!!! I've had this phone for about a month now and it's great. I've got big fingers and other slide phones (and almost all new phones on the market) i've seen have been difficult to use cos of small or too close together buttons - smaller isn't necessarily better if you can't use the thing - but the 6280 is a joy with nice big sensible buttons. my last phone was a samsung e720 whch drove me nuts as no one could hear what i was saying due to very poor sound quality. the 6280 is crysyal clear - you can hear everything. series 40 user interface is fab, as easy as my old 6210 (my fave ever phone) and very quick (unlike the clumsy series 60 used on n70 etc) and the mem card expansion slot lets you easily carry enough music to keep you occupied for a couple of hours. dunno what the video calling is like as none of my mates have a 3g phone yet, but the 2mb camera is great - took really clear photos at a recent rugby match i went to, even with the digital zoom on full. the screen is big, bright and very clear - better than my mates d600 even. battery isn't as good as other phones i've had, but will generally last for about 3 days with about 30 mins use each day, but poor battery life is common with 3g phones i believe, altho it is improving with each charge from empty. connectivity is excellent, bluetooth works flawlessly with everything i've tried it with. in all i would thoroughly recommend this phone to anyone - all the features you could ever need in a sleek design thats incredibly easy to use - despite the slightly disappointing battery life, but i can live with that, just keep a spare charger in the car!

Torn between this and the N70, Ive had smartphones for 2 years but was tempted into this on the basis that the N70 OS is unreliable. Within 2 hours this phone had crashed three times. It finally blocked me out of it asking for an authorisation code for no reason, exchanging it tomorrow but am unsure if i will go for the N70. 3G is very slow on this, you have to be patient, my 6630 was much quicker, a very annoying 'loading' icon reminiscent of Atari is displayed. This phone also annoyingly doesnt utilise all of the screen when on 3g and displays emails in full width rather than fitting to the page size, this results in scrolling left to right to read every single sentance. The design is nice to look at, very similar to other designs though, it seems fragile and im worried i'll break it! Menu wise it's very old. Similarities with 3310 etc etc. Thers no quick way out of an application, usually pressing the phone down key takes you straight back to the desktop from anywhere but on this you have to constantly press exit to get there. The display looks cluttered. very easy to send the same text more than once as theres no obvious sign that its been sent once the button is pressed the same 'send' button stays illuminated prompting you to press it again and again, also every change in the settings has to be manually saved. Calendar wont let me save future dates claiming that they have already taken place, despite the right date and time settings. Screen and sound seem good. I may give it one more chance or i may just risk the n70 despite many having programme problems (i can always keep returning them until i get a good one like my 6630) All in all it feels like a rushed last ditch effort from Nokia. Time would be better spent perfecting their new technology, its the future.

Right... the 6280. Now let me begin my review by saying that I actually WORK for 3G hutchison and I know the phones VERY WELL! I have had a Motorola E1000 for the past 12 months (as most ppl have on three) and got VERY excited about the RAZR V3x coming onto the network. When it arrived... apart from the 2mp camera, it didn't really 'grab' me.. there was nothing 'new' about it! The 6280 looked like a samsung copy and when it arrived in our stores we grabbed it and i instantly hated the plastic look... BUT, We at Three are encouraged to play with our LIVE demo phones (dont ever compare real phones with dummy phones... they are NOT even made the same way!!!) so we know how they work... I got so bored with the RAZR... it's just an e1000 in a different shell. The 6280 is SO USER FRIENDLY that I could not stop playing with it. ONE thing that is a winner is that the speed of the refresh rate (that's the video looking or not looking all staggered to u non-techies out there... the highter, the better) is AMAZING!!!!!! just take a moment to look at the video making and play it back.... then do the same with a RAZR.... THE BATTLE IS WON AND THE RAZR IS DEAD! Now, the 6280 does not have gr8 memory on the phone... but thats a good thing! Think about this.. all ur videos, pics and mp3s go to the memory card so u dont 'clog' the phone up and make it run slower! (anyone remember that with the 6230's!?!?!?) and worst case senario and ur phone dies... all ur stuff is removable!!! Finally after playing with all the features the 6280 is the phone I have upgraded to and yes... it doesn't have the latest o/s and it doesnt have wi-fi... but what people need... and nokia have responded to.. is reliability and this baby has it! Well done Nokia for making a phone with buttons a man can text with (what was WITH the n70 / 6680 buttons... PLEASE!) and well done 3G for exclusivity of the handset! I always recomend the 6280 over the V3x almost EVERYDAY at work!!! JP (retail seller of 3G phones!)

A fantastic phone, Nokia finally have managed to create a decent screen! WHY WHY WHY couldnt you put this screen on the N70. This phone is perfect in every way, except that its not a smart phone. It runs the cut down Symbian S40 operating system, which is very stable and fast! This phone is a good sign that Nokia are really thinking more about usability! The phone also slides nicely open which makes texting much easier! Using the Nokia N70, Nokia 6680 and other smart phones with the keypad right on the bottom of the handset, can be a little cumbersom! The buttons are large and easy to use. The battery life isnt great, and if you use the phone a lot, it will only last 1 day. But lets hope this improves! The camera quality is not bad either, though it could have done with an auto focus feature. There is a radio which is cool! The Memory card, is the standard Mini SD card which are easy to buy and can be upgraded up to 2GB, so its quite nice to use as an MP3 player! The bad things I have noticed about this handset is that there is dust under the screen of this Nokia 6280. I have been advised that you should take your Nokia 6280, to the Nokia Center in your area, and they will clean it for you! Lets hope the next phone in this format, is a smart phone! But over all, I just hope that more of these phones are tested and Nokia uses more user information to improve hand sets!

Within 12 hours of receiving the phone, it froze and restart itself 3 times, to make things better it gave me some nonsense about a restriction code. This phone is not as sleek as it looks. As fat as a Motorola C975 but coming in a little shorter, Nokia have failed to produce a phone following the trend of slim and sexy 3g Handsets. It is a lightweight hand set - coming at the expense of a flimsy plastic construction - when compared to the Sony Ericsson k750 or W800i with their solid metal construction it looks rather cheap. Mp3 player is intuitive to use but can only be used with the rather poor quality headset provided by Nokia. Radio signal is good. The 2mp camera takes excellent pictures under most conditions (no lens cover though!!) and the screen is both crisp and large and prone to fingerprints. The menu system is clear and easy to navigate - similar to both Sony ericsson and Motorola. Overall: 3 sent me this phone in a bid to make me stay with their network. It has all the functions most people would ever need and some people may enjoy its style (let us not be too subjective). If it were just 5mm thinner and of comparable build quality to the V3x, D600 or W800i then It would be a worthy contender in the marketplace – It’s not. It’s Cheap!

Great phone can't fault it, comes with all the bells and whistles you could want and is very stylish , but is let down big time by the battery life. This is my second phone in 6 days, the first had to be charged 3 times in 4 days with only a minimum of use, exchanged for another 6280 and after being on standby for a day and making two 2 minute calls setting the time and changing the ring tone the battery is down to 1/3 power, can anyone tell me if this is a familiar fault or am I just unlucky to get 2 problem phones, now thinking of exchanging for nokia n70 any comments, thanks, Chad

TOP QUALITY PHONE ALTHOUGH WITH MY BIG FINGERS THE TOP ROW OF BUTTONS ARE TO CLOSE TO TOP PART OF PHONE WHEN TEXTING. ALSO THE BATTERY IS NOT VERY GOOD RE TALK TIME. THIS IS PROBABLY THE BEST PHONE I HAVE HAD AND I STILL CAN'T BELEIVE THAT YOU CAN'T TRANSFER OVER ALL YOUR EXISTING CONTACTS/NUMBERS FROM SIM..............!

I think this phone will be the best nokia has done so far.. the spec is fantastic on It plus as a added bonus It`s a 3g phone.. 2mp camera too... what a phone... I`ve been waiting for It to come out so I can get a new contract but It appears to be late getting on the shelves! I thing 3 network has It but I want 02 or orange but they say not yet available... anyway all in all It will be top of the shop If It works like the ads & specs say.. happy new year for 2006 to all...

Thsi is a great phone, but I just really dnt like the keys. I text heaps and they're jst too small. It is nice and everything, it feels nice to. The camera is really really good, I printed 2 for a mates birthday and theres no little square things, and that all I need it for at the most. The screens big so u can see things easily and it is bright too, more brighter than my previous Nokia 6101. Im going to stick with this one cos it has mp3 in it too, and dat means i dnt have to have even more gadgets in me pocket, lol. k, this phone is good, so buy it if you want one with a good camera and nice looks. :-)
