Nokia 6125 Review
Phone rating:
Review: October 2006.
The Nokia 6125 is a mid-range camera phone designed to be simple and easy-to-use.
It has a keypad with well-spaced keys and an easy to use navigation key. The
6125 seems to include most things you could reasonably expect from a phone in
this price range. The spec includes a 1.3 megapixel camera, which takes reasonable
quality pictures, although there's no flash. The video camera records at a relatively
low resolution and video clips are limited to 5 minutes maximum duration. The
main display is nice and sharp, although the resolution is relatively low. The
external display isn't that great though, especially in sunlight.
The 6125 includes a stereo music player, with support for MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+,
eAAC+ and WMA formats and also has a stereo FM radio with support for Visual
Radio (displays information about the track and artist playing). Connection
to an optional Bluetooth stereo headset is possible.
The 6125 lacks internal memory, with just 11 Mbytes in total, but a MicroSD
memory card can be added to increase storage of music tracks and other user
data. Connectivity is excellent, with Bluetooth 2.0, USB and infrared all available.
It's a quadband phone too, so it'll work internationally without any trouble.
Overall, it's a nicely styled phone with a very good feature set. This isn't
a high-end phone, so there are some things missing, and it's not an exciting
phone to look at (some may say boring), but its a good choice and probably the
best mid-range Nokia camera phone currently.
Features of the Nokia 6125 include:
- 1.3 megapixel camera with 8x digital zoom
- Video camera (176 x 144 pixels, 15 frames/second, max duration 5 minutes)
- Main display: TFT, 262,144 colours, 128 x 160 pixels (1.8 inches)
- External display: CSTN, 65,536 colours, 96 x 65 pixels
- Stereo MP3 player (MP3, MP4, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA formats)
- Stereo FM radio with Visual Radio support
- MP3/AAC ringtones
- Integrated handsfree speaker
- Voice recorder
- Voice dialling
- Messaging: SMS, MMS, email (IMAP4, POP3, SMTP)
- Java games
- Caller ID with image or video clip
- XHTML web browser
- Push to talk
- Flight mode
- Connectivity: Bluetooth 2.0, USB 1.1, InfraRed
- Memory: 11 Mbytes plus support for MicroSD memory card
- WAP, GPRS, EDGE
- Vibration alert
- Quadband
- Talktime: 2 - 5 hours
- Standby: 160 - 280 hours
- Size: 90 x 46 x 24 mm
- Weight: 98g

I HAD MY NOKIA 6125 WHICH WAS THE BEST OF THE 5 NOKIA PHONES I HAD TILL
DATE... NOW I AM USING N79 HOWEVER, IT IS HOPELESS... NOKIA 6125 IS
THE BEST... I WOULD IMMEDIATELY FAVOR NOKIA 6125 IF ANYONE ASKS MY OPINION.
IT HAS PLENTY OF GOOD FEATURES & VERY MUCH USEFUL EVEN FOR ROUGH USE.
DURABLE & LONG LASTING

You need a MicroSD to exploit its other good features. It is very convenient
for general usability. The camera resolution is quite low, and the battery
runs out fast. But Overall, a great mobile...

I've had this phone for just over a year and just recently the battery
started to die. I can't even turn the thing on now. The ring volume
is rather quiet. The camera is rubbish. The music player is average
and the vibration alert is nothing short of useless. This phone doesn't
have a lot going for it. It also scratches very easily - so don't keep
it in the same pocket as your keys!

a little bit clumsy, not the best look, but still very useful, I dont
understand the complaints about the batteries, cause i can leave it
on easilly for a week. The SD-memory works great and also has an adapter
that fits my computer. Can hold a lot of music. I would really like
to get more comfy headphones than the earplugs. those are painful.

This shouldn't have been this fat. Camera excellent. Screen should have
been bit bigger. Battery runs down fast. Memory too is very less. But
support for MicroSD is good. All in all not so impressive.

I have been using this phone since last august. Replaced after one month
because it didn't got any antenna signals. The battery has very short
talk and standby time, around 4h / >100h. Wery poor sound quality. Changed
from Sony Ericsson K700 to Nokia 6125. Have changed now back to Sony
Ericsson W810i. I have used few other Nokia phones (6110, 6310i and
older) this is the worst of the all (6101 and 6103 is better quality).
I'm not sure if I will buy Nokia again after I have tried Sony Ericsson.

john, i cannot understand how you can compare nokia n73/93/ etc (any
phone in N series) with this one.... maybe you are referring at nokia
6131??? this phone is ok but that's it.... it does exactly what it is
meant to do, but it's very limitted... poor build quality, poor camera,
very very poor display etc....and extremely high price for low performance....
