LG Optimus L3 II review
|Review: July 2013|
In a nutshell: The LG Optimus L3 II is a tiny Android smartphone with stylish looks, but too low in specs to be a contender.
Smartphone manufacturers are hungry for your business, and few are hungrier than LG, which despite making the magnificent LG Nexus 4 on behalf of Google, hasn't been able to make much of a dent in Samsung's dominant market share of Android. But never mind, because healthy competition means good deals for consumers, and that means you!
The Optimus L3 II is a tiny Android smartphone with a screen measuring just 3.2 inches. Its unique selling point is perhaps the home button LED that alerts you with different colours for incoming calls, emails and messages. Although the phone is very nicely styled and feels well made, that tiny screen really does limit what you can do with a smartphone.
The phone runs Android Jelly Bean (4.1), which gives it an edge over older models, but at the same time, it's really one of the lowest spec phones to be released this year. In particular, the low resolution screen and poor quality camera disappoint.
On a positive note, the large battery and low power requirements combine to give the phone excellent battery life.
Although the phone is cheap, it doesn't seem to be cheap enough to justify more than 3 stars from us. If the price falls to £50, then it'll look like a bargain, but even at that price, the specs may disappoint.

Got this for my teenage son after he broke his Samsung galaxy s3 twice. Was 45 from tesco and for the price is good. Lightweight, easy to use, cheap. Of course it doesn't compare to higher end smartphones - it's not trying to and is priced accordingly!
