LG BP125 review
Review: October 2013 | ||
![]() Rating: In a nutshell: The LG BP125 is a cheap, ultra-compact Blu-Ray player with a tiny footprint ideal for cramped spaces. |
Design & looks
The LG BP125 is an ultra-compact Blu-Ray player with smart, glossy black looks. The quick-opening tray is a handy feature too.
Playback
The player can play 2D Blu-Ray disks, including BD-R/-RE, as well as DVDs, including DVD+RW/+R. It can also play CDs, including CD-R and CD-RW. When playing DVDs, the player can upscale to full 1080p HD. There's no support for 3D playback.
Connectivity
The player connects to a HD Ready TV via HDMI. A USB port lets you plug in a USB drive or other device and access music, photos or videos on your TV.
Conclusion - a cheap, entry-level Blu-Ray player
The BP125 is a cheap, ultra-compact Blu-Ray player with basic functionality. There's nothing else to recommend it particularly, and we prefer the Samsung BD-F5100 or Sony's excellent BDP-S1100 entry-level player, unless space is really tight.
LG BP125 features include:
- Playable disks: Blu-Ray, DVD, CD
- 1080p upscaling
- Audio: Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD
- Connectivity: HDMI, USB, SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC)
- Size: 270 x 198 x 39mm

I got this as a gift a couple yrs ago and it works great. using the
usb port to view photos is quick and easy. no wifi so no netflix or
youtube but not a big deal. I like its small size so you can take it
with you on a trip as most hotels have flat screens now and your sure
to find a redbox near by.Took away 1 star for not having wifi. It's a
great deal.
