Shocking customer service.
Useless billing systems.

I've been with them for 2 years - first year was ok, second year however has been chuffing awful. They managed to under bill me the first year by 150 ish quid (even with meter readings...), no problem me thinks - the under payment will just get paid back over the next 12 months at 12-13 extra per month - no chance.

The billing system will not let you the customer decide any direct debit amount -EVER! It took 9 months of trying to get the DD amount increased before the computer system decided that the amount would not get paid off in time so doubled the direct debits that I had been paying...

It took me a month of chasing and haranguing before a "manager" would even deign to even attempt to sort things out for me.

They were cheap once but even that advantage has gone.

Hi Philip,
Hope you don't mind me asking, but when they upped your DD how much warning did you get? Or did the 'manager' let you know, when you finally tracked him down to complain?
Only asking because the 1st year is generally not estimated very well, so there's usually a hike up in payments when they actually experience how much fuel you're using.
But some suppliers let you know that the DD has gone up, after they've already done it. Then leave you playing the 'sorry, wrong department/ leave you on hold for 1/2 an hour/we'll get back to you' game to wear you down, so you're left paying higher DD for ages.
Also, are you still with them, and have they improved their 'like it or lump it!' System?

Just renewed my annual electricity contract with this company. They are the cheapest supplier for the second year in a row according to uswitch. No problems with billing, switchover, etc. Just simple cheap prices.

I have been with iSupplyEnergy for two years now. I was reluctant to move from EDF, because I didn't know if I could trust one of the new energy suppliers. However, I needn't have worried. Despite having a silly name, iSupplyEnergy has been great. It was very easy to switch from EDF, and I submit my own meter readings online and get online statements. It's very easy, and I would encourage others to try. I have saved a lot of money by making the switch.
